Default Tire Feathering on my 04 TRACK

Well I had hoped I would be spared but I guess not.
Just under 5,000 miles and Feathering appeared.

My Z was built 07/03

I could start to hear the tires roar slightly.
But wasn’t sure. 2 Nissan guys I met immediately
noticed and pointed it out to me.

A visit to Performance Nissan and had the car set up
to new specs, re-aligned, and had both front tires
replaced with new ones.

Add another 04 to the list. Hopefully it wont come back.
I was told it shouldnt.

I advise all 04 owners, especially the early ones to check for feathering and have your Z set up with the new specs.

This was a TSB fix and didn’t cost a dime.

Good Luck.

It was corrected after The Dealer verified that my car had feathering. If the feathering has reached a certain point new tires are given. They told me they never have seen the feathering as much as I had with just under 5000 miles. if the feathering isnt that bad they can fix it and your tires should wear even and be alright, or you can drive some more until the tires need to be replaced when they fix the alignment

You can check your build date on the car. It's located with other info On the door and I believe under the hood. Run a search to see where this info is.

If you have an early 04 you may get the feathering. it usually starts about 4000 miles or so. Your tires will start to make a roaring sound. You can also feel the uneven wear on the inside of the front tires.
