Default ''Everyone with a Z must read'' TIRE DEFECT

Hey guys i have a 03 350z enthusiast, And i was coming home from D.C tonight going about ''65' .in traffic.....And i heard a knocking noise . So my buddy rolled down the passenger window and he said we got a flat. So i pulled over and got out and looked at the rear tire and couldnt believe what i saw...My tire was smokeing and it looked like someone opened my tire up with a canopener . It was slit completely down the middle all the way around the tire.So i called my buddy who works at a local nissan dealer and he said that 2-5 people have been coming in with the same problem. He said theres a defect in the tires and that the manufacture is recalling them....So im bringing it in tomorow to see what they say...But i hope this problem isant the like whole firestone thing with the suv's tires just exploding for no reason...

So i thought this might have helped a few people out , Check youre tire pressure constantly. And see what youre local dealer sais....I'll post a reply tomorow when i come back from the dealer ... and some pics i took of the flat tire...

Did he say if it was just on the 17" tires or 18" as well?

Looks like a picture of your car and not your tires.

Default Tire Recall

so do all the dealers know there's a recall in the tires? Can I get replacements if I stop by a dealer?

Gussz, you did not specifically say if your tires were the Potenza RE040 or RE040 version 2 style of tread pattern. Your title might be more aptly corrected to: "Everyone with a Z running on Potenza RE040 version 1 (or 2)" - note tire defect!"

Those of us who already switched tires can then skip your message!
