I have the Toyos on my car on the same rims you plan on getting. So far so good. They grip like crazy in dry or wet conditions. When driving through water if you look through your rear view mirror you will see a lot of the water the tires move. My friend said it looked pretty sick driving behind me, seeing all the water shoot out.

Here is a pic of the tires with the Volk Sf C on my car

these 2 tires are not in the same class. GS-D3 is a world better then toyos. they cost a lot more too. they are on the same level as so-3. i wouldn't get toyos no metter how cheap they were.

For the 19" sizes, I cannot speak to. However, I know that the 245/40-18 Toyo T1S is 24 pounds compared to 25.7 pounds for the Goodyear F1 GS-D3. For the 275/40-18 size, Toyo is 28 pounds versus 28.9 pounds for the Goodyear. The Eagles are only just slightly heavier then, than the Toyos.

As opposed to MrZ, I found that when shopping for 18" rubber, that the Goodyears were way cheaper than the Toyos.

I was thinking the same thing....

On a side note, I will be getting the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's as a warranty replacement (free) for my two front tires, which were wearing unevenly. Too bad the rears weren't feathering too... Anyways, my local dealership should be getting them in today and hopefully they'll put 'em on today too. I'll let y'all know how it goes...

peace

I like the T1S, but I prefer the GS-D3. If they made a fatter tire say 295/35/19's, I would have gone with the Goodyear's. IMO they're the best tire out there for the money!

Just take a look at TireRacks feedback and Ratings chart compared to any other tire...

.... with the notable exception of the Toyo T1S! Sure would be nice to compare them, but Tirerack does not sell the T1S, so there is no direct comparison.

from what i heard while talking to tire store employees and fellow enthusiasts: toyos have a very soft sidewall. punctures way too easily and will collapse if you drive with them low on air. generally people's oppinions were that they were low quality tires. that's my findings. and they ARE far cheaper then gs-d3

Well as far as I recall, he asked for feedback and not opinions. As far as the Toyos being a bad tire, many Vette drivers have them on their cars. The reason I choose them was:
1. because they were one of the few brands that made the 275/35/19 which is only .4% off from stock diameter ( no other configurations is closer)

2. Vette drivers gave them a 95%+ on several different forums. If they are good for a vette, they are good for my Z. The traction on them is incredible. I know because I speak of experience and take my car to the track ( 1/4 mile, 1/8 mile, and street courses ) I have no complaints on them what so ever.

I suggest owning a pair before disclosing "what you heard"

thanks for the feedback... keep it comin'... i've been given a quote whereby the goodyears are $270 U.S. more for a set... looks like i'll be going with the Toyo considering the price difference. I have looked at Tirerack's feedback, that's why i was considering the goodyear in the first place, but no Toyo to compare to

Do you have either one of these tires? If not, it's hard to have a fair opinion. The Toyo's are in the same leauge as the SO3. I've had both of these and I prefer the Toyos. Roughly the same price and a better tread wear rating. I love the Toyos. Also, if the gs-d3 is so much more, say in the ballpark of the F1 from what you make it sound like, I would buy Eagle F1 in a heart beat, probally the best tire out there.

I believe the Toyos have a 280 treadwear rating. I believe it's the best in it's class and one major reason I bought them.

According to TireRack, the GS-D3 also has a 280 treadwear rating, and for the record, the GS-D3 is an "F1" series tire.

As far as price is concerned, 1010tires.com (the first site I could find that sells both) has the a 275/35-19 GS-D3 for $372 and
sells the T1-S for $310.

However, TireRack has the same GS-D3 for $273.

I was actually surprised to see such a price difference ($100 per tire!).

I found Toyos 275/35/19 for $250 and the front, 245/255, for roughly $205 at onlinetires.com. call discounttire and they should match any web price, and they will mount them. At least they matched it for me.

my toyo t1-s (275/40, 245/40) mounted and balanced on to my lmgt4's for $840... i was shopping around the online sites untill one of them had me waiting for like 3 weeks so i canceled and went locally and had the tires mounted and balanced within a few days, and it was cheaper
