I've got a track model and would like to take off the Bridgestones and end the nightmare... Is there any advantage to going with wider tires on the stock rims? What size would you suggest? I saw Discount Tire's thread suggesting 245's on the front and 275's on the rear but they do not include specs on the rims. Will that be too wide for the stock rim? I'm looking for better handling without messing up the VDC.
Thanks...
Thanks...
I'm running a 275 on the rear on the OEM Track wheels, and it doesn't seem like the tires are bulging. That being said, tire manufacturers never recommend using a tire that wide on a 8.5" wheel due to liability reasons... Another note: using the 245/275 stagger will induce some understeer, even into a setup that was quite neutral before.
