Do a search for "Kuhmo" at Roadfly.org under the E46 M3 board.

You see posts where both Snook and ChuckD praise the Kuhmo MX as a great double duty tire.

Just so you now -- Snook is a BMW CCA club racer (he has an E46 M3 Race Car -- weighing in at a svelte 2750 lbs). Chuck is a serious track rat with a stripped, but streetable E46 (3000 lbs). Niether of these guys would compromise on tires -- and both say Kuhmos are great.

I run Kumho MXs and they are great. There is some vagueness in the steering but it helps the ride on the street. Performance wise the traction, break-away, and wet duty are great. They can take a real good beating to and the wear is even and fairly durable for what it gives grip wise. Best of all is the price. I just ordered my 2nd set.

Default I have the same set of wheels and tires

I have run two track days on my SSR Comp H and 265 front and 295 rear. You get some rub on the rear strut and the tire under hard cornering at the track. It will also wear down the plastic cover over the gas filler pipe in the left rear wheel well. I have since gone to a 5mm spacer for the rear. This problem occurs only on the track.

The tires ar Yoko AVS sports and have worn well but squeel like a stuck pig at the extream cornering.

Have fun.

That sucks!! Tirerack said no rubbing at all, and I specifically stated that I would be going to the track.

Are you lowered at all? I plan to lower the car a bit (probably just the 20mm that the Nismo suspension does) will that end up making things worse?

I hate running spacers. I would probably not have gone this route had I known that spacers were necessary.

Does it rub anywhere else other than rear strut and gas filler pipe?

Edit: Well after calming down a bit -- I just checked the specs on the tires. Your Yokos are slightly wider than my Kuhmos (the 12" versus 11.9"). I don't know if that will make a difference -- but we shall see.

He is running a completely different tire than you his may rub while yours may not. I wouldn't worry about it to much a little rubbing isn't bad.

I am running stock springs with Koni shocks, and EVO Swaybars.

I did not find the rubbing until I took of the tire to put on new race rubber for this past track event. I is very slight so maybe the tire width willl make a difference.
