Default spacers-pros and cons?

i've found a set of wheels that i'd like to buy,i test fitted them to my car and they don't clear my brembo's the installer(also the seller) told me i would need a 15mm spacer for the front and a 3mm spacer for the back.
my questions is- to those who have spacers, are there any problems with them?
should i just find a set of wheels that can bolt on without spacers?
ANY help you guys can give would be appreciated.
thanks

from what i hear, a set of wheels without spacers would be the best way to go if you have the money.

all i know is from tirerack and they don't recommend spacers...i trust their judgment.

agreed... wheel/hubcentric spacers would probably be OK for a street setup, but in the end, you'll pay for them by having to prematurely replace your bearings

i've read that a couple guys on this board are running spacers, and i haven't heard of any problems with them.
strife350z- when you say premature wear, what do you think (in miles) would you say i could go without experiencing bearing failure?

One Con is you will probably need new longer studs for the front. Using hub and wheel centric spacers shouldn't really adversely affect the bearings if you don't go to big. 15mm is Ok.
I use 12mm with Nismo studs.
