That doesn't look too bad. Are those Toyos or other tires? I think the 285 would look even better on a 10.5 since the tire will look even less chunky (even though in your picture it looks fine to me already).

Hehe..yeah...but I think they *might* be Bridgestones. The picture isn't detailed enough for me to tell.

255/285 on BFG KDW2 are "very beefy" imo. I have seen them up close on a 19" wheel and you can tell they give good lip protection on 9.5/10.5 widths, bulgey sidewalls. Cutting or rolling of the fender is a definite for this setup.

I am even more surprised that "beefy" 245/275 KDW2's don't rub on +22/10.5 rear... but I think the one I saw that on had -2.5 camber.

Thanks for the link kbomb!

fahrenheit350: I definately won't go with a 255/285 BFG setup. My only option with BFG will be 245/275 or 255/275 (but I would go with the latter). However, judging from the above pix, I am leaning towards either Toyo's in 255/285, or *possibly* 255/35 and 295/30 in Toyo. (hey, Ravi got them to fit!)

Will Pwr,
Did you have to roll the fenders running 285 in the rear on your LE28's? Also are those +22 10.5 in the rears?

Not sure if I like the 285 in the rear...hmmm...I think it buldges out too much for me...

Thanks.

Will's got 275s on the rear...unless that was a typo and you were wondering if 275 rubs if you have a +22 10.5" rear?

Oh, my mistake...nevermind...I think 255/275 is the perfect setup. 285 bulges out too much...

Yeah, I have 275s in the rear....and it doesnt rub with the +22 10.5 rear.

I like how the 275/35s T1Rs fit on the 10.5s...the 285 do look a bit bulged and will need to have the fenders rolled for the ride height I like. Plus I plan to get another set of wheels that are more agressive in offset and I know the 275s will work better in that case as well.

What offset will you be going with next Will? My next set is going to be +17s on the rear (19x10.5"), so I know I will have to roll regardless. So can you recommend a place that will roll them for a decent price?

Hahah..yeah, I talked to Rick a bunch of times, but they shave it instead of rolling. I'm kind of weary about that and think rolling may be a better option, but I'll see how it goes!

My bad, sorry..forgot to specify that, yes they do shaving, not rolling in most cases. I can understand your weariness too....both practices have thier +'s and -'s. Shaving usually keeps the outside fender in the same form prior to the service since there is no bending of the metal area..but it does expose some of the metal behind (I would just use touch up paint to coat it - if they dont already do it for you). Rolling doesnt remove material and if done right, no paint is removed to expose anythign, but the amount of clearance created is sometimes more limited than shaving.... so there you see it..no definate answer to which one is better hahaha

Yeah I know the pro's/con's, but I'm still confused....if rolling is done properly, I'd rather do that. But there's an unskilled person doing it, then I would rather just shave and be done with it!

From what I've heard, the paint can still crack even with someone that knows what they're doing. Its just taking the chance I guess. I would prefer to shave the fender instead since cracking the paint is least likely. I saw Rick @ Status' fenders and it look fine. He needs to take a drumel to to clean it up more, but it looks like a nice job.

Will Pwr- But what metal is exposed from shaving that wouldnt exposed already??

Is your car lowered any? Or if not, will you have rubbing issues if you lower it an inch?
