Question Anyone get the US Gov't Investigation Letter on Factory 350z Wheels?

just got it in the mail today..

the short version of the letter... basically states that:

The Vehicle Research and Test Center and the Office of Defects Investigation, both offices of the national Highway Traffic Safety Admin. are examining wheel issues in various 2003-2005 Nissan 350z.

They're asking people to fill out a questionnaire...

Just wondering..

I searched NHTSA's website and didn't get any hits on "350z wheel".
Is it something you can scan and post?

>>>> IMPORTANT <<<<<
Here's the link to the NHTSA "file" on this issue. It includes the final report issed by NHTSA which essentially clears Nissan of any design defects and places the blame on the aftermarket chroming processors.

Maybe there has been a few reports of wheel's cracking and they're doing a scientific survery to determine if it's a real problem and how significant it might be.

This smells too much like a scam to me. Email that Michael Packard guy. dot.gov is the valid DOT domain so if it is legit, he should respond. If you get an invalid mailbox bounce back, it would explain things even sooner.

What does that have to do with anything? The letter states "...examining wheel issues in various 2003-2007 Nissan 350Zs...".

Of all the problems with the 350Z, cracks in wheels is the least of out worries.
