are these the same material used in their spacers? I've read stories about the built-in studs on their spacers breaking, so i'm curious if these are prone to the same?

Sorry man, I have no idea. From what I've read these will be fine for daily driving so as long as you don't track the car they should fine. I have no intention of tracking mine. If you track the car I'd go with ARP studs.
