Exclamation Virginia Beach is the Safest Town on the Planet

I just got pulled over and sited for "Failure to Signal Lane Change". The officer admitted I was doing nothing else wrong. I tried to explain that around here if you give a signal, which I actually did but very briefly, people will accelerate to cut you off. He followed me for about 4 or so blocks before pulling me over. If they have the time to give me a ticket for this I guess there isn't anything else for them to do and the city is safe from violent criminals and drug dealers.

I'm trying to figure out if points are associated with this heinous act I committed and how long this will stay on my record, or if this is just a revenue generation scheme. If it's revenue generation I don't get it because the city has a surplus from all those high *** tax assessments. I kind of got the impression the police officer was looking for a "Fast and Furious" type but got the old *** LCDR instead.

Looks like it's a moving violation with a 3 point deduction! Outch!

Wow... that really sucks. Kinda funny though that was the only reason you got pulled. I guess the cop was just oblivious to 90% of the other drivers driving 15-20mph over the limit, following too closely, and swerving because they spilled their beer.

Actually I don't think it's any points. I looked up the pre-pay and it's only a $30 fine. The thing that really gets me is a Mustang GT right before Dam Neck had cut across three lanes to make a right hand turn, gunning it and no signals of course. All I did was make a simple lane change. I don't know of anyone who has gotten a ticket for this infraction.

What?? You didnt use a blinker?? Thats a law in Virginia? ?!!?? No ****ing way ! I would have never noticed with the dozen times i get cut off a day and all the lane changes i see without any blinkers. Not to mention even trying to use my blinker to switch lanes just to have the moron accelerate to impede my switch!!! I came from a place where hospitality still exists but **** that, my blinkers are gonna last me an extra 3 years of life span. ****ers stay off these days and i even thought of removing them altogether. I mean, whats the point in having them right? This place is **** and i cant wait to get out of here!

Sorry KPISKIN, i feel your pain.

I'm still miffed about it because I observe exactly the same behavior you described. This morning I decided to count how many people who cut me off actually used a blinker, and literally out of 17 times only 2 did.

Thats pretty lame, it must have been looking for something else and didn't find it, he should have just let you go on your way. Hampton must be pretty safe as well around here they write tickets for parking on the wrong side of the street, sorry guys got to go just heard some gun shots ring out, got to go check my car for holes

I'm not specifically sure, but it isn't specifically listed under the "3pts" list. I got a HOV violation about 4 years ago after entering about 2 minutes too late, of course a cop was there waiting, that didn't assess points either, just a fine.
