I just got pulled over and sited for "Failure to Signal Lane Change". The officer admitted I was doing nothing else wrong. I tried to explain that around here if you give a signal, which I actually did but very briefly, people will accelerate to cut you off. He followed me for about 4 or so blocks before pulling me over. If they have the time to give me a ticket for this I guess there isn't anything else for them to do and the city is safe from violent criminals and drug dealers.
I'm trying to figure out if points are associated with this heinous act I committed and how long this will stay on my record, or if this is just a revenue generation scheme. If it's revenue generation I don't get it because the city has a surplus from all those high *** tax assessments. I kind of got the impression the police officer was looking for a "Fast and Furious" type but got the old *** LCDR instead.

Looks like it's a moving violation with a 3 point deduction! Outch!

Wow... that really sucks. Kinda funny though that was the only reason you got pulled. I guess the cop was just oblivious to 90% of the other drivers driving 15-20mph over the limit, following too closely, and swerving because they spilled their beer.
He was hating! BUT then for g#ds sake VA beach is the only place I know that will give you a ticket for cussing and being rude/loud in public. They even have sighns posted for no bad lounguage. sorry my spelling is real bad, its my second language.

Actually I don't think it's any points. I looked up the pre-pay and it's only a $30 fine. The thing that really gets me is a Mustang GT right before Dam Neck had cut across three lanes to make a right hand turn, gunning it and no signals of course. All I did was make a simple lane change. I don't know of anyone who has gotten a ticket for this infraction.

I'm still miffed about it because I observe exactly the same behavior you described. This morning I decided to count how many people who cut me off actually used a blinker, and literally out of 17 times only 2 did.
just take it to court and see if the cop actually shows up for it. Hell, its a day off from work LOL
if it doesnt rain tomorrow I am going to go do some F & F and see if I can find this guy.... what area were you at? LOL

I'm not specifically sure, but it isn't specifically listed under the "3pts" list. I got a HOV violation about 4 years ago after entering about 2 minutes too late, of course a cop was there waiting, that didn't assess points either, just a fine.
