Any salt water fisherman here? I'm looking for a good spot to do some shore fishing are there any good spot to go to and what type of bait/lures to use?

Would love to help, but I'm not much of an outdoorsman. One of my coworkers likes fishing around the bay bridge-tunnel, but no clue what kind of lures/etc he uses.

 

I fish occasionally with some friends. There is a good spot if you're ever on the Peninsula just off the Colonial Parkway in Yorktown.

I live in Fox Hill (Hampton) myself, less than a mile from Buckroe Beach. I can't wait for their pier to get down, supposedly end of summer. In the mean time I sometimes go to the Ocean View pier. It costs money but I catch a good amount each time I go. All using shrimp as bait.

 

Ocean View pier is about 1.5 mile from my house. I went there once. I wasn't bad. I was using the wrong bait for the place. I was using mullet which worked well just ran out of it quick.

 

My friends and I fished pretty hard core one summer at the Chicks Beach pier. We were pretty successful at times always using squid or blood worms.
