A year ago when I was still in college, I illegally parked my car in the faculty area next to an older Carrera and a 996 turbo. Had to turn in a thesis paper.
Came out to get back into the car and one of the older faculty ladies walking by said,
"I like your porsche! It's the best one in this lot!"
"Haha thanks but it's a Nissan Z."
"That's not a porsche? Fine, best Nissan I've ever seen then..whatever letter it goes by."
I didn't know whether to be a little offended, but now thinking in retrospect, what a cool lady and refreshing compliment.

Mine was when the car was new back in early 03 a guy was at the liquor store I pulled up to asking me all kinds of questions. While I was in the store paying I overheard he was talking to his buddy outside telling his buddy he could not even afford to sit in my car. I was suprised how he thought the car was expensive.

my story -
i was road raging around my post office about the long line they had just to mail something so on my way back i decided to try to do something crazy with my car. so basically i was rushing a light at a packed intersection and doing a 90 degree left turn with all the traffic lined up ... so i feinted the wrong way then the right way pulled the hand brake and sailed on the throttle... made the drift like it was directly from D1.. then as i was exiting the corner, i see this middle aged bloke in a red dodge viper waiting 3-4 cars behind the stop light giving me a thumbs up and yelled out - "NICE!!!"

haha, i was driving to my gf's and I pass this HS everyday (Redondo Union), it's on a busy street (PCH). So one time they had a game or something, but there were some cheerleaders waiting to cross at the crosswalk from the mcdonalds across the street. As I passed them and I heard a girl shout, "I LOVE YOUR CAR!!!!"

When I first put my wheels on my Z. Black TE-37's (19's). I was at the gas station and a guy and his GF or wife or sister came up to me and said "Wow, what is that?" I told him it's a 350z. He then commented on me not only having a nice car but having new wheels on it. Also while he was walking away he told the girl he was with that my wheels probably cost more then his car.

Did some donuts on the dry taxi-way when I first got her.... Everyone rushed out of their hangers to see who was leaving alot of rubber on the apron.
Had 3 pilots "test drive" her in the same manner.
The burn marks remained untill the snow started!lol

Little 5 year old kid screaming "Daddy Daddy buy a car like that!"
Oh and another except for words, when the car was fairly new, I parked it on 46th and Park Ave in NYC, it was detailed and squeaky clean with just my wheels. I wish I had a video camera for the amount of people that'd slow down to look at the car or keep looking back as they walked by or went up and peeped in. Its actually pretty funny and flattering. Most the guys were middle aged businessmen that Im sure make over 100K/year.
