Ummm... no. Half a notch faster? Are you serious? Look at the 0-60 times for both cars. You might be able to catch an Evo VIII on the highway, but you sure as **** ain't gonna catch a IX. A STOCK Evo IX can click off a 1/4 mile in 12.9... the fastest times from a bone-stock Z is around a 13.8. That's a giant notch if it's only half a notch faster off the line.

I haven't been keeping up with the latest stats. It's two notches faster. There.

Do you really want to drive a cheap lancer with a turbo?

I mean yeah, the evo's faster, but the 350z is a true sports car with a sexy stance

So, how much exactly do you know about the Evo that you can make educated, rational points to tell the OP to help in his decision on which vehicle he should go with? Obviously... nothing.

My friend had one. It was fast and all, but the interior sucked. and without a turbo, an evo is nothing.

Oh, there you go with that crap... "oooo, without a turbo, an Evo is nothing..."

Do you even know any of the differences between a Lancer and a Lancer Evolution? Go educate yourself before you start making assumptions.

Oh, by the way, any car that comes with stock Recaros, a stock titanium MOMO steering wheel and stock carbon fiber trim has a pretty damn good interior... it FAR outweighs the bad.

I would wait and see how the EVO X comes out. I'm considering trading my Z.

the warranty is good and all... 10 years 100k miles. but one mod to the evo and the whole warranty is void no? i heard mitsu is really looking out for that... and plus i also heard that if u buy a used evo with the same warranty, the warranty doesnt carry over... is that true?

Sounds like BS to me. The only way the warranty wouldn't carry over is if you bought it used from an individual seller who had voided the warranty. If you bought it used at a dealer, the warranty should be intact.
As far as warranties go, modding a car does NOT void the warranty. It only voids the warranty of parts affected by the modifications. Dealer must prove that a modification caused damage for it not to be covered. Example, if you put a short shifter in and your headlights burn out, your headlights are still covered(if they were to begin with) but you may have problems with transmission related warranty claims. ^ The Mitsu warranty kind of carries over... the 10 year/100k doesn't, it's only for the original owner. What carries over is a 5 year/60k and some others (can't think of them off the top of my head).

yeah thats wut i was talking about.. the 10year/100k warranty doesnt carry over if you buy used. found this on mitsubishi's website "The 10-year/100,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty applies only to the original owner of new, retailed 2005 and 2006 models. Subsequent owners receive the balance of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 5 years/60,000 miles."
