Default void warranty?

I am having an issue with my cooling fans not working, thanks to this site I found out that I may be able to get this fixed by Nissan on a recall. But my question is will my unichip I have void the manufac. warranty? and if so can I remove it get the repair done and then replace it? Thanks for any feedback.

Take it out and toss it in the garbage.

Where it belongs.

Your uni chip is doing nothing for you and probably is doing more harm than good. throw that ***** in the garbage and call it a day.

The answer to your question is, any type of piggyback system that could affect the operation of ancillary systems (ie. fans) could be grounds for voiding your warranty. Take it off before taking your Z to any dealership.

No footprint: http://www.unichip.us/254-no-footprint

I thought Unichips were legit piggyback devices?

i don't see why someone would pay 500 for that when a dyne tune isn't much more. curious, it is factory warranty (doubt) or the extended warranty

Bobgill, Nissan discovered quite some time ago that a percentage of the fan motors in the 04 to 07 Zs were failing prematurely. They extended the warranty period on this item from 3 years or 36,000 miles to 7 years or 80,000 miles. It was not a product recall. I remember getting a letter from Nissan explaining this and what symptoms of motor failure to look out for. When Nissan and their dealers are replacing a known faulty component, they really don’t care about modifications you may have made to the car. They just slap on the new parts and send you on your way.

You didn’t say what year the car is, but I would guess the extended warranty has expired by now. One thing you could try is calling the Nissan consumer affairs dept (1-800-647-7261) and ask for some ‘good will coverage’.

They will never see that chip to begin with. Nor should they as it should not be on the car to begin with lol. You've been scammed.

thanks for all the in-put, The uni-chip came with the car when I bought it and honestly I never noticed a difference in performance, my stock 06 ran just as well with out a chip.
