Default Considering an 06 Z

I am considering buying an 06 grand touring roadster with 25,000. The price would be around 18k. Seems high for an 8 year old car, but it is cherry and this is what kbb recommends. I am wondering if I would be better off buying a newer z(with more milage) for that price? Or possibly another 06 with less milage for cheaper. Are the updates in 07 worth holding out for?

Is it manual or automatic? Why don't you post a couple pictures so you can be certain it is a Grand Touring model. Lots of dealers don't have a clue what the model Z they are trying to sell.

Thanks for looking. It is a manual. The original owner is an older lady so I am sure she was gentle with the few mile she put on it.

Looks like the wheels are mounted wrong in that second pic.

Also IIRC the GT came with Brembos.

I suspect that car is a Touring model, not a Grand Touring. It should probably be worth a few thousand less dollars than the GT model. Check KBB for a price on the Touring Roadster. Also you might check to see if the motor has been replaced because of oil consumption. Lots of '06 manuals had the problem and had their motors replaced. The difficulty with this one is there may not be sufficient miles for the oil consumption problem to have happened. You really need to do your homework before purchasing this car.

I have 2006 Touring Roadster. It is a great fun car, I hit the gas and it takes off. Still can do 60 MPH in 5-6 seconds. With age couple of problems may be worth considering in the price. One is the convertible top gets beat up by weather in 8 years and may need replacement (life may depend on how well it was taken careof, garaged, too much sun). Second is tire pressure sensors go out around this time. I guess engine is not worn enough but still check oil burning problem.

i have an 06 with about 100k miles and never experience much oil consumption. i love my z .. however the updates to the 07 and 08 motor is significant and i'd say its worth it. on paper it's not much better but it has better internals and power across the board and from what people say.. it's more reliable.

Default List of problems for 05 350z

Hey guys, I am thinking about buying an 05 350z. I have also done some research and came accross some problems. I just wanted to see if these these problems are acually a pain to deal with when you have the car. Can someone list the problems for me pls.

Thanx

Default oil

I would never buy an 06 due to OIL CONSUMPTION. sure some have not experienced it but it's not a chance one can take.
