350z HR AT vs Mustang GT (99 model)
I'm sure this has been beat to death, but not with these specific mods. A guy in town has been talking big crap. GT with headers, exhaust, intake, and 4.10 gears(?). I'm stock besides a catback exhaust. Im auto. In the next 2 weeks I will be going Test Pipes, Intake, and tune. How would I fair either way. Just want to see everyones opinion with me understanding mustang vs z has been beat to death. Thanks

Those Mustangs have a lot of torque but nothing up top.
With that being said, on this forum we do not condone street racing. This thread will be locked.
Also, as others have mentioned, you have an auto Z. No matter the outcome, you have to live with that. Enjoy!

Where have I stated this was a street race? This forum is a damn joke. A GT-R is essentially an auto and it runs a 10 sec quarter. Oh but its still am auto. Woopty effin doo. I just needed an opinion. Thanks a lot to everyone.

My brother has a 2000 gt with those exact mods and we were dead even 60mph+ when my 2003 Z had headers, high flow cats, HKS replica catback, injen intake and up rev tuned.
He pulled me from 0-60, we were even until ~115, then I pulled.
So overall, my vote is that your Z will be slower.

I agree with that. However, I feel that the mods I have on my DE make it essentially the same as a stock HR (speed wise). And with the fact that I was losing a race up until 115, I don't see a stock AT HR being faster.
I don't see the HR being far behind, but I definitely don't see it winning. Unless the guy that drives the mustang doesn't double clutch like he is supposed to

Understandable. Thats how I felt too. I might do a before mods run and an after so I can give people an idea. But thanks for giving actual responses and not trying to make this whole thread negative.

That was my biggest concern his gears. I'll probably race him a week after I get my brand new Yokohama's. So I'll have more traction than usual. I'll post results and opinions after. Thanks.
