Irish's Build Thread - Bagged/Boosted Z Roadster
Copy and pasted from another forum. So bare with me here.
I bought this car 3 years ago from the original owner with 15,000 miles on it. The car was cherry. Smelled new and drove perfect.
The car has gone through a few phases from static to air and multiple sets of wheels. Different bumpers and exhaust set ups etc. I am currently in the final stages of boosting the car, rebuilding the trunk set up and refinishing the wheels. The power goal for this year will be around 450hp to the wheels on a conservative tune.
Take a look and let me know what you think! I'm cool with thoughts either way.

Here is the car the day i bought it
First static set up

Second static set up
When i first went air
by https://www.flickr.com/photos/kmcguckin/, on Flickr
When i first got my rezax and did a test fit
Once i got the tires on and did some fender pulling to get them to sit fender to lip
New bumper put on the car and new headlights
by https://www.flickr.com/photos/kmcguckin/, on Flickr
Then.... i pulled the whole front end off of it to get the fenders fixed and the front bumper re-sprayed. Wheels are apart and getting powder coated, air tank is getting powder coated to match as are some engine bits. Yesterday i pulled the motor apart in preparation for the super charger install. Was able to get the GTR injectors installed as well as the new Kenetix Intake Manifold... the thing is a work of art in my opinion.
Engine bay before
The super charger and other misc engine bits
Injectors
Plenum off and fuel rails out
Kenetix Plenum installed, GTR injectors installed
upgraded my BOV
installed the front mount
And where i am currently at
got the supercharger all installed. Bought a new 1 piece charge pipe since i hated how it looked as multiple pieces. Got all the intercooler piping installed which was more of a PITA than i expected considering there is like no room in there for activities lol. Got the gauges in the pod and on the A pillar. Just need to wire them up which i am nervous about most since i don't know that **** whatsoever. Got the oil pan spacer installed yesterday and ran my oil return line to it. Just waiting on my new oil feed line and the kit will be done. After that and the gauges, it's just fuel pump time and i will be ready to see if it starts! Pretty nervous to say the least.
Also, my wheels are in pieces. Refinishing them currently at my powder coating sponsor.
I had the front bumper and fenders resprayed while i had them off of the car. Had the fender emblems shaved off while i was at it to clean things up and finally got the car running! Was able to get my base tune installed and started the car to check for leaks or anything and everything thus far checked out! Car is running great! Headlights are off to Limelight Auto to get a little bit of modding done as well so in the mean time i am going to rebuild my trunk set up! Also going to be adding a little lip spoiler to the mix.

Took the day off from work on Wednesday and took advantage of the perfect weather. Was able to get my trunk built for the most part, just need to carpet it. Was able to get my 1 off duck bill spoiler to fit, super happy with that. Got my shaved fenders back on, side skirts back on, strut bar and mount, and engine plastics and trimmed the inner fender to get lower when i air out (stance****boiproblems) Oh, and i was able to drive the car around the block! Winning!
I will have my wheels back today or tomorrow and my headlights back sunday. So i am hoping to be done this weekend!

I've said this a thousand times before.... "Not into stance/camber/whatever you want to call it."
But I love a good build no matter what kind of car or what kind of mods.... '64 Impala low rider, '80s Volvo rally car, whatever unlikely car; but best when it's a Z!
Been following this one since I joined this forum and all I can say is, "Dayam, righteous build!"
No, won't be rebarreling my modular wheels to a foot wide & -10, nor bending my control arms to within a thousandth of them breaking nor airing it down to say hello to ants; but gawddang, man, good job!
