So ive been wanting a leather centre console for a while, but havent had the money to pay someone to make a custom piece for it, long story short about 25$ cad and 9 hours of patience with some adhesive glue and it looks perfect imo. Its not real leather, but its a lot thicker than i thought and has a really satisfying smooth feel and squish to it, so happy with it prolly gonna do the doors now too. Link to the **** i used, its already adhesive backed but the edges dont like to hold without adhesive glue (https://a.co/d/htTLUgr)
ignore the door in the passenger seat, painting door handles black and sound deadening for the new speakers i just installed
Looks ok, but it's not something I'd want. Cars get dirty and sit in the sun, I want something I can easily wipe down.
i mean, the suede is on panels that don't really get dirty, that's the reason i wrapped the shifter surround leather, it was suede before, but it was hard to clean so the leather is perfect
Damn, I didn't even realize the center was leather. But as far as the upper dash goes, my 2018 car gets pollen on the upper dash when the car is closed, I doubt a 20 year old car would be better in that department.
Hey OP, what's your shifter boot made out of? Is that snake skin of some kind or kevlar? It looks very different/unique.
Hey Dark,
There's a fix for your pollen issue, but it requires pulling the entire AC Blower box and making some modifications. But in short, you can fit a cabin filter from a 2003 Altima inside the blower box. The trouble is, it requires you to split the casing (serious effort). I've done the mod, but maintenance/upkeep will be painful. I figure doing that once per year is worth the trouble to keep mold & mildew from building up on my evaporator & heater cores (resulting in STINKY AC).
This mod can be improved by cutting out a side access port on the blower box and installing a removable door, to do it professionally/cleanly, meaning to match other vehicles with factory equipped cabin filters, will require a 3D printer and some testing/prototyping. I have my old blower box from my wrecked Z that I plan to use for this eventually, but it's not a priority right now.
Cheers!

Neat, it's not too much of an issue for my Z, but it chills in the garage so has more protection lol.
The car I was referring to is my GTI which has a cabin filter that I change every summer, still gets pollen in it.

Hey! I actually have no idea what its made of but my guess is some plastic fibre canvas or something because it feels nice but stiff and a little harder to the touch than youd imagine for canvas if that makes sense, its just some random bride knockoff i got on amazon for probably 20$, when i bought this car the previous owner had taken less than ideal care of the interior, which is why i have wrapped over everything... all the typical stuff combined, repainted but still scratched panels, sticky feeling paint, cracked, bent, missing ect, was cheaper to wrap them to look nice, than to buy new replacements. and i have too much love for this car to have left it like that so bootleg custom interior it is!
