Default iPhone (3G) mount suggestions please

I have a double din in dash stereo. I bought a tv out cable for the iPhone. I'm trying to figure out where the best place to mount it is. I would have done the coin tray but i will need it to be horizontal most of the times, especially in GPS, landscape is way better. I was thinking about putting it in the cubby on top of my stereo. The only problem with that, its gonna be sliding all over the place. I could also put it in the middle hatch (where the removable cup holders are), but then that wouldnt really be too accessible. I just want to find a place where it will be stable, not sliding all over the place. My last resort would be to buy the a/c vent mount. I just want some opinions, pictures would be appreciated too. If I could lay the phone landscape (horizontal) where the coin tray is, and have it fit there, that would be awesome. Oh one more thing, I was also thinking about spray painting the iPhone cable black, because white would stand out too much, is that a good idea or do you guys think the paint will fade off and get everywhere?

Sorry guys one more thing, I just found this. How hard would it be to make something like this? Modify it to fit the cubby on top of the stereo of course.

am I the only one that thinks this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiD0Cyt8QYc is awesome? I guess it wouldnt bee too hard to make for the 350z. Just make a little plastic box that fits exactly in the cubby. I'll try to make one, hopefully it will look nice.

The proclip looks like a pretty neat setup. Did you route the iPhone tv out cable out inside the cubby or some other location?

I'm gonna route the iphone tv out into the cubby on top of the stereo. I will do this saturday (i ordered the stereo on ebay, comes in sat). I got a pretty good idea of what im gonna do now, something like the youtube link I put up. The only problem is, I cant have the iphone vertical, only landscape. If I use pandora while in landscape, I cannot change stations or go to the next song, I cannot do anything except look at the artist info

Thumbs up Looks great!

Honestly, it looks too good to be true. Did you buy this? Or did you make it? Cuz, if you made it... Much praise!!! Looks awesome. Willing to replicate it and sell them? I'd be first in line to purchase!!! Great job by the way!

Paragraphs are your friend

I made my own custom mount that sits in the coin holder of my 2004. I bought the AC clip mount from Pepboys, removed the rear portion, placed velcro behind it, mounted it to the coinholder and BINGO.

As for making the cable black, I would try dying it rather than painting it. Boil it in a fabric dye. thats how they dye plastic RC car parts. Google it.
