Advice on setting up my 350z with a single 10" woofer

If you are only doing a single 10" woofer then why use up your valuable trunk space when you already have a built in box and 10" hole right behind your back? You have to be cautious about which Sub you get but there are a handful of decent ones that work well on less than a squarefoot of space. A little foam and Dynomat and you can use this otherwise wasted space while keeping your valuable hatch space. If you are going to use the hatch space under the sway bars, I would definitely go with dual 10's and wire in parallel to get more power out of your amp (if it is stable at half current ohms). Just my 2 cents.

Hmm.. maybe. Dont you need an open air sub if you use the stock location? wouldn't i also need mounting brackets if the wholes dont line up?
I've seen one place that has sealed boxes for the stock sub woofer spot but not sure If i wanna go that route..

An open air sub would be OK as long as you don't need HUGE bass. Pretty much anything is an improvement over the stock BOSE junk.
I just put a sealed 8" in the stock location. I tried a sealed 12" in a downfiring glove-box enclosure but even with lots of the dynamat all it did was rattle the hell out of all the metal and plastic back there. You could get a sealed 10" firing thru the stock opening but it requires some custom fab work. The problem I ran into (even with my 8") was the surround hitting the stock grill cover.

Actually, as long as you make it air-tight, an enclosure works just fine in that space and definitely gives better sub-bass than any ported speaker in such confined space. since this post, I installed my system, I dynomatted the inside of the compartment and poked holes in the corner and filled with foam and then dynomatted the corners again, sealed with Silicon and bam, good bass, right in my back, no rattle. See my pics on at the bottom of this page ->https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-v...system-15.html

I'm running a single 10" Rockford Fosgate R2D4 in a .75cf enclosure in the little driver's side cubby in my Camaro. It's weird to 8 ohms to bridge the amp at 4, getting around 200 watts. It is impressively clean and punchy and surprisingly flat all the way down to some rather low tones. I listen to anything from country to EBD and it's an all around great performer.
