Question Single DIN head unit with ROEM-NIS2 ????

HI there, I'm a new Crazy Canuck member.
Just bought myself a 2004 ZR (I assume that's how you say it in here in reference to the Roadster model).
I have the Bose system w/o navigation unit. The CD unit is shot. I intend to replace it with regular (not fancy at all) Sony single DIN unit that I took of my Cobra (as long as I have a USB input). I don't intend on changing any of the amps nor speakers. From what I understood so far from the 20ish thread I read in here, I will require the ROEM-NIS2 unit for the system to properly work.

Are my asumption correct?

Thanks

Lots of people have problems without it and for the most part it corrected their issues. Others claim they were fine without it.

I don't know if i'd call it an absolute requirement, but if you're someone who would rather have it working the first time rather than repeatedly taking apart the dash, i'd just buy it. The $40 or so is better than lost time and aggravation.

Assuming you did everything correctly, there's adjustment pots right on the front of the adapter. They're labeled by speaker. Turn them slightly with a philips head screw driver to the desired setting.
