Exclamation And So... It Begins... And COMPLETES!!!

*NOTE* Installation photos several posts down

After suffering over 2 1/2 years of crappy-azz stock audio... All of my pieces have arrived...!!! My Two 10' Sub BOX will be here on Friday, and I will be having it painted to match my exterior.
I still need to decide on 'sound deadening material' (DynoMat Extreme is out of the question due to their price gauging!) I was going to go with this stuff from Loews & Home Depot, after hearing several people use it, like it, and it's very reasonable cost. But I'm also being told that it has a "low melting point" and our TX heat may cause problems.
At any rate, I anticipate the installion to be commence in the next couple of weeks. I am soooooooo ready for an Audio/Video setup with some thundering bass!!!

Stay Tuned.......

By the way, have any of you used the liquid type of sound deadening? The system is heavy enough.... But adding dynomat, fatmat, etc.... Will be like having a 2nd passenger!

Marcus, good to see this project starting. Just fyi, you can get Dynamat close to half off retail on various internet sites. Is this the turbo money going into the system???

Nah...... I have decided that I'll more than likely keep the Z for @ another year and then change cars (I believe we saw it in Silver at the car show). I just can NOT go that long with as much time I spend in my car, with this BS stock stereo!

i heard fatmat stuff is pretty good for their price. you can spend less than 100 bucks and seal the whole car with 2 layers. which i think will be better than 1 layer of dynamat.

Thanks!

That would be these: eDi 6500s Components

And the large box at the bottom would be two of these: 11Ov.2 Subwoofer Dual 4

Thanks guys. I'm am "jonseing hard" right about now to get this tuff in... especially looking at these boxes everyday!

m|2. B|2 ya|\| - You can go to elementaldesigns.com for tons of info/pricing. I found out about them through a huge Car Audio forum, and people were all over the product and service. Very reasonably priced and comparable to JL.

About the sound deadening... this was extremely helpful too:

http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/124995.html

Me thinks I will have a "quite potent system" when it's all said & done.

I have that same changer. It is nice, and for the price it does a good job.

If I had to ***** about it I would say that its noisy changing discs, I would mount it the farthest away from you I could get it. mine is right behind the passenger seat and it is a little bit annoying.

I've had a Pioneer 12 disc-chngr before, so I'm kinda used to it. Plus they have one of the BEST anti-shock/skip setups of any changer IMO. And I love how it will fit perfectly in our small cubbys behind & above the seat.

DAMNIT!!!

Just when I thought I was 100% ready to begin install, now that my BOX is painted, I'm reading through my AVH-P5700DVD manual, and in order to get true *DTS* audio from movies I play, I need a foking seperate decoder: DEQP8000

Looks like I will be delayed by @ 2 weeks before installation due to budget constraints! But I've waited over 2 years... and by SPL... I'm gonna do my shiz right!

Pioneer DEQ-P8000 digital audio processor will bring the world of surround sound audio into your vehicle.
This exceptional mobile 5.1 channel Pioneer digital audio processor features Dolby® Digital, DTS™ and Dolby® Pro-Logic® II surround sound.
Pioneer DEQ-P8000 automatically adjust for great sound using the built-in multi-channel AUTO-EQ and AUTO-Time alignment feature.
5 Channel MOSFET50 high-power is provided to power your speakers, or use the 6-Channel Hi-Volt preamp outputs to run outboard amplifiers.
Oh yeah.... I will be going for "TRUE SURROUND" Dolby Digital & DTS, thus I will be installing this little gem up front & center:

Center Channel Speaker for use with Multi-Channel Surround systems, including the Pioneer AVH-P7500DVD, DEQ-P8000 and DEQ-P7000.

High sound quality design includes a Kevlar® Fiber Composite Cone, Butyl Rubber Surround, and dual Neodymium magnets. Sealed enclosure designed for easy installation, typically on the vehicle dashboard.

Like Chris Tucker would say.... "And you know this.......Maaaan!"

It was ordered along with my equipment you see here. Of course... I won't be revealing the make or model of it. Let's just say that it is "state of the art":
Personal Pager
Multi-Stage shock sensor
Mercury-Leveling Switch
Glass Break microphones
Starter disable w/ Engine immobilizer
Continuous rolling-code
Backup battery

Just to name a few. If all else fails... ALL items are listed thru insurance at retail cost.
