My $500 system
Was just looking to improve the sound in my Accord and didnt feel like spending a whole ton. For right at $500 I did a complete system changeout.
My install consists of an MB Quart DSC-4125 amp ($160), a JL Audio 10W3V3 ($140), Infinity Reference 6032si ($60), Alpine ida-x303 HU ($160), and a sealed .75 cu/in sealed box for the sub ($40), and the Kicker wiring kit ($75).
I am happy in general with the whole thing. The highs scream, the sub hits very good and is very clean. Still breaking it in. The amp has more than enough power with plenty of gain left. I dont even have it a quarter of the way up on the highs. Just showing what a small amount of money can buy and do.

That's crazy for $500. I'll probably do a budget system when I get a second car after I move to TX. This is pretty damn encouraging that it can be done.
I remember when I started with the Z, my initial budget was $1000 not including the HU. It's now become a new obsession so my budget will increase even more. Damn you Bing lol
You would hope that this would stop the budget systems on here lol

That's a nice set up for a little investment, solid work on selecting the products.
My original build in my GTO was a pretty strict budget but once the amp and both subs fried the budget went out the window and I started over.
I used JL TR and VR series coaxials in the rear deck and doors (those are still in place) with a pair of Autotek 10's and a 5 channel Autotek amp all running on the factory head unit. Used some wiring from previous installs and had boxes built to fit inside the rear side panels for $100. I started out with less than $700 in that build.
Two JL amps and an Alpine touch screen later it's well over $2k now.
