Hows this for a budget system?
I'm real new to this audio stuff, and I'm not really looking for anything too special, just a basic build that'll blow my shitty stock bose system in my 03 touring out of the water. Did some research and these components seem to be the best bang for the buck when it comes to budget systems. Again, i'm not looking for a competition system, just enough to make me smile everytime I fire it up.
Amp - Alpine MRP-F300

Sub - Tidal Audio 12

Speakers -Cadence Acoustics CWM-6KIT
http://www.amazon.com/Cadence-Acoust.../dp/B004O9SYAQ
Deck - Pioneer 2300DVD
Sub box - Random eBay box

and ofcourse the chasis and the wire harness. Planning on doing the labor with a few friends so i'm looking at 800 and some change unless I'm missing anything.
I'm a complete newb which is why I'm coming to you guys for help before i waste my money
would this setup work or are there better alternatives for a $1000 budget?

I'm a fan of Pioneer myself, so I'd go with them. Here's a link to a site that I've bought from before. He's got good prices, free shipping, and if he can he'll include the wire harness for your car:

I'm not a huge car audio guy, so I can't speak for the quality of everything, but I know the Pioneer head units that I've owned haven't given me any problems. Good luck!

That amp isn't going to be happy with the ohm load from that sub. When bridged its only 4 ohm stable and you've got a 2/8 ohm load from a dual 4 ohm sub. It could work if you plan on wiring each voice coil on a separate channel with a mono signal. Power wise I think a 10" would be a better match with such a small amp (150 watts). If you just want a basic system don't overlooking doing two 8"s instead of one 12".
I've installed one of those amps before (in a buddys Dodge Ram) and they are nice amps for money. Don't forget to budget some money for all the wiring ($100 should do it). I've bought from Sonic before too, excellent deals for sure!
I've run Pioneer decks in my last 3 installs... no problems, good units, however I am planning on switching over to Alpine for my Z install, mostly to get the Imprint system.
