Custom behind-seat enclosures with subs (fits in stock sub and glove box area)
A stealth setup without sacrificing sub size? Perfect. Up for sale are my custom behind-seat enclosures with Alpine Type-E 10" subwoofers installed. These are the best looking enclosures I've seen that fit in the stock subwoofer and glovebox compartments.
This setup I purchased from another my350z forum member about 3 years ago. She had the enclosures custom built by a local shop. The enclosures themselves are pretty quality. The way the subs are mounted in the enclosures make it look like you'd buy it straight from Alpine this way.
I recently sold my Z, so I no longer have any use for this setup. I'm not (yet) willing to part out the subs.
You are buying 2 enclosures: 1 for the passenger side, 1 for the driver side.
Asking $150 + shipping.
If you're interested in a head unit or amp to go with this, check out my other for sale thread.
Fittment
If you're picky (like me), you will have to do a little bit of work to get these to fit well and look stock.
I was only able to test fit the enclosures. You'll have to completely remove the stock glove box and subwoofer mounts for them to fit. In order to keep the decorative plastic trim on with these installed, it looked like you'd have to dremel in a few places to get the boxes to sit flush. I never got around to doing this before selling the car.
The subs fit snuggly into the stripped glovebox/subwoofer compartments during my test fitement. The dynamat helped hold them in place, requiring me to "wiggle" them into position.
Condition
The subs are in excellent condition. There are no scrapes or scratches on the cone, and no damage to the surround. The vinyl is in great condition as well.
The seller did a lousy job of packaging these up when they were shipped, and there was some slight damage to both enclosures on the corners. The mdf cracked, and is visible underneath the vinly. It won't be very noticeable once they're installed (and hidden by your seats anyway), but it's definitely there (and you can see it in the pics).

Ill upload a picture once I get a chance. Theres about 3-4 inch space between where the enclosure and panel meet. theres also about a 2 inch gap on the sides since it won't sit anywhere near flush. Im trying to find someone that does fabrication for audio systems to see if they can salvage any of this or anything.
