APS Dual Exhaust First Impressions
I'm so lucky living next door to APS, well not right next door but not far away, next suburb. My car is now proudly kitted out with the all new APS Stainless Steel Dual Catback exhaust, the fit and quality is fantastic it's a shame its all under the car except for the tips, which are a work of art in them selves. Some back ground info before we go any further, my car was fitted with a HiTech Catback system which I loved, it developed extra 15rwkw and sounded pretty cool but as I was ordering the ASP Twin Turbo kit I wanted to have the complete APS system ie; exhaust to match the TT. Let me say that I was not expecting it to perform well on a N/A car, boy was I wrong the car seem to be very responsive to the throttle and my bum says its quicker it pulls much harder, I’ve had no time to get it on the dyno yet will try to post results as soon as I can. There is no droning that I can detected at any speed and on a light throttle you can just hear it above the engine, but on WOT it sound very much like the 996 Porsche, just awesome. I particularly like the four bolt racing style stainless steel flanges and the attention to detail, like being able to refit the air deflector from the OEM muffler (which I haven’t had time to fit as you can see in the photos) and keep the car’s aero dynamics as close to what the Nissan engineers designed for this car’s. All in all this a great exhaust, a well thought out top notch system, if this is a taste of things to come I can wait for the TT.

The exhaust looks nice but I thought if they were going with a true dual system they would of made it like the HKS true dual exchaust system. ie: Two rear muffler canisters.
Either way congrats on the noise maker

David, so your new APS exhaust have twin 2.5" pipes goes into the rear muffer?? Unlike the OEM and other exhaust?? I like the polished pipe on your new exhaust!!

It looks gorgeous.
The HiTech one is good enough at the moment, to a point where I can't justify replacing it until I get some forced induction.
Still, when the time comes..........

The rear muffer has two separate paths for each side, the left side exits via the right outlet and vise a versa for the right.

I just installed a set of Hotchkis sways over the weekend and dumbfounded about the huge difference I see. <---- Kind of sparking my interest about suspension mods now

The S-tune suspension is kicking a**, David took me far a spin with his Z-Track when we fitting the HT. Anyway, the cornering is sharp and good But suprisingly, it is quite comfortable for normal drive.

apart from cornering.. how is the actual 110km/h ride ??

DaveC took me for a spin in his car as well as let me drive it. The ride feels 'softer' than stock. I am not saying that the suspension is softer, but the actual ride is smoother, and nicer compared to stock.
Under hard cornering the car takes a much better 'set' that one with OME suspension. It's hard to describe, but you can feel the difference ... and as I said, the ride is very much improved.

ZZZ-35 - so is that the final production version of the catback system thats on your car??
What sort of dollars are they asking for that and when are you planning on dynoing it??? im after an exhaust soon but wanna check out all the options... im steering towards a hitech system at the moment but your setup might prove to be a better option..

The S-Tune solved alot of prolbems with the 2003 models suspension, bounce is gone, ride is smoother due to the better shocks and progressive spring, ride is now between 15 - 20mm lower is has settled quite a bit, it's improved the cornering and reduced the understeer. Allround a nice mod which my Nissan dealer has no problems with concerning my cars warranty ie I've just been told, Nissan will paid 80% of the cost of replacing the front tyres which had the feathering problem at 10,000K's and now are at 32,000k's, so I'm happy with that, but if I had a different brand of suspension on the car the warranty is void.
