bump.

Still hopeful for a real product, or someone willing to sell a few homemade kits.

Just to give everyone a heads up George has now completed developing the rear dual caliper kit for the Z33/G35 community, and I should receive the prototype soon and will have a nice write up on this. I feel this is a good option for any one that is in need of a dual caliper setup.. Here is a pic of the kit and a small description form George..

"Z33/G35 Dual caliper bracket final prototype. This one was significantly harder than the s-chassis one to design. CAD designed and FEA tested. It is compatible with stock iron and brembo calipers. It is also compatible with OEM rotors! They will be released after some real world testing. Watch for it!"

^ that looks very simliar to mine however it appears that that one eliminates the factory parking break.

the unit has to be joggled because the mounting plane for the factory brakes is about .300" below the surface of the hub mount. the factory brake bosses will then need spacers and longer bolts to reattach the calipers at the factory location.

There should be 3 additional holes on the bottom for the factory cable pull parking break rig set up. Im guessing hes not doing that?

Makes sense Jason, but I would have to look at it when it does come to me...

Here is his test fit

Plastic prototype for test fit

Looks good, you guys can use either two OEM Iron Calipers, two Brembos or two aftermarket Calipers if you choose too.. Dual 6 piston calipers anyone??

Drivers side right?

He went low, i was aiming to go high and mount at 1 to 2-O'clock position on the knuckle...
(think maintenence man...with brembos they are drop in pads...who wants to do that swap with drop up??? at ~5-0-clock position he has).

He has the 2nd caliper at 4 to 5-O'clock position.

The oem caliper mounts at 9-O'clock pretty much on the drivers side...

The mount looks like great work! prototype looks good...just parking break delete though...

ya definitely..share pics...cant wait to see it all mounted up. let me know, maybe i can come by. im in SA, TX.

Also, just fyi for everyone, obviously this bracket add the thickness width in millimeters to the offset of your wheels. Bracket mounts between hub and knuckle..thus sticking your wheels out further..

1/4" is just what my rear wheels needed.

I am guessing this kind of offset from the plate would not be enough to affect clearance with stock wheels or similar sizes?

I will probably end up rolling my fenders in the long run anyway.....

Hey J,
with a totally independent set up with a remote master cylinder, would it effect abs?

^ ya its completely separate from the oem brake system......so it wont affect ABS at all.....

Well unless your dumb enough that while your abs is working (ie, wet condition situation) you decide to pull your ebrake handle...so other than that NO.

The two systems are completely separate from one another...

this set up would have to be paird with a wilwood master, reservoir and lever to pull...

I would so buy this but the problem is that I want to keep my cable e-brake because I still drive mine on the street. If this can be done then I am completely down for it, if not oh well I will have to try and figure out a setup on my own.

ya, per his prototype pic above it doesnt extend down to pick up the parking brake holes.....why is beyond me...why gain a caliper and loose a factory function???

anyways, im saying if you get one fab'd that extends down and picks up the 3 parking brake mount holes then your good...

mine is built all in prototype plexi plastic and i mounted the ebrake parts and all is functional..ive just been lazy with my machine shop guy as he is also a buddy and we do the stuff together all day long...i havent had a free day to dedicate to it....

Jason is correct, the kit does not utilize the factory E-brake, but George can make it work with your OEM E-brake setup. It would just be a additional cost to do so. The only reason he made this kit was for track us only so must if not all track only cars do not us the OEM E-brake set up.

Now with that being said, he is about ready to to start making the first batch of 4 So if anyone is interested hit me up and I can direct you to him. He will make a thread on Zilvia very soon and I will have the link once he does.
