Default OEM Intake Air Box

Okay, after searching around i figured out that the Oem air box seems to be far superior over a regular CAI. Right now i have a regular CAI with NO heat sheild and was wondering if i should purchase this used one i found on ebay for $75. I would also purchase a K&N drop in filter to go along with it.
I have a 2004 6mt nearing 80k miles. I have the kinetix V+ Plenum, Megan cats, and HKS rep exhaust.

Also, do they sell new piping that would work with the stock air box?

get the revup airbox from the 06 models. there are many options for the intake tube. thezstore sells a carbon fiber one. z1 sells their own tube iirc. stillen has a tube. or you can just use the oem black intake tube.

but yes, 06 airbox with k&n filter is best.

I've also been looking for an 06 airbox, is there a way to modify the 03 airbox to "act" like an 06? I have no experience in venturi rings and velocity stacks, etc.
