Cant wait to see the results and hopefully its not a very minimal gain.

To Mr sparco - I plan on getting the 3.7 final drive when i get the money. We have a 4.08 stock right? Or is the AT different being 5 gears vs 6?

Nobody has a 4.08 factory. 5AT has a 3.3 and 6MT has 3.5. I'm planning on going with a 3.7 since this is my DD. Once I've got the money for a diff swap, I'm doing both at the same time.

That's what I was thinking but confused myself. I'll be doing the same when I get the money to do it.

Well, unfortunately we didn't have time to test OE vs larger TB. Which I'm pretty bummed about because I really wanted to end this TB debate. So I just slapped the larger TB and jon went to work.

So now more bad news...did not gain anything anywhere on the graph. And even MORE bad news, Jon unfortunately figure out my high idle with this larger TB. I think because I'm 5at, it is some how throwing it off. To be clear, the TB I'm using is an 06-09 infiniti M45 (V8) TB and not the official maxima (V6) NWP TB.

Also, I didn't take any pictures of the graphs because the information wasn't very helpful. My TQ curve was garbage and the HP peaked and fell harder than previous setup. The best run Jon got was 258hp/236tq. The numbers are technically within a good standard deviation, but the curves....ugly.

Sorry to disappoint everyone. I will posting the velocity manifold up for sale after I find someone that can port and polish my lower plenum. And I'm going post the TB up for sale after I ask one of my buddies if he wants to buy it.

That blows... Maybe V+ and the nwp tb would have gotten you better results.. All Trial and error...

Ya, now I think I'm going to go back a research what guys have done to the lower plenum besides the port and polish. See other fellow mad scientists of NA power procurement.

did this have teh same bolt holes or did you have to slot them to fit on the manifold?

[QUOTE=waldo36;10477510 the M45 TB has 80mm intake side then tapers to 75mm on the plenum side, and it does not have coolant piping.

Same bolt holes as the NWP, because I used the NWP spacer to make it fit. I don't much (nothing) about tuning, but I think this TB would work better for a MT. I think my AT computer was throwing it out of whack since this TB is coming off of a V8 to a V6. I do know the throttle response out of this thing is nuts though. It feels faster than the OE TB.

I'll probably post the TB up this weekend for sale once I take pics.

Did you do the throttle body relearn before the tune? Might not have been reset properly, shouldn't matter that it's from a v8 nor the fact you are AT.

I did all relearn procedures. Jon said that since the TB is coming off a different engine, it was sending a code that the comp didn't recognize. Jon said he had to block the code to keep the CEL from coming on. But even after he blocked the code, he still couldn't adjust the idle.

I say the TB will work with a MT is because whenever I'm in the gas and let off to coast or get ready brake, the throttle closes and opens real quick. Since the trans goes into "neutral" whenever I let off the gas, whenever the throttle closes and open it pulls the trans down then accels forward. So if the TB is on a MT, I think it would be more linear to pedal position since there is a clutch pedal to put the trans into neutral....if that makes sense.

Ok, found the video from April when I was first experimenting with this TB. Once it uploads into YouTube, I'll post it up here for a visual of what I'm trying to explain.

Video supplied. You can see how the RPM needle jumps whenever I left off the gas. And the idle just stays high. These were the nearly results that Jon had while trying to tune with the TB.

That is weird, isn't the NWP tb of another engine as well? Does the M45 plug right in or did you have to make a harness like NWP?

Naw I'm pretty sure NWP came off of a FWD DE from a maxima. And the plugins are the same the voltage-drop harness that is used. Now are those pins in the appropriate places....meh? Maybe that's where my problem is, one or two pins could plugged in the wrong area. But the harness does have the same connection
