How to increase TORQUE instead of HORSEPOWER?
I know the urge to bump up our HP figures borders on mania but lately I have been noticing some TQ losses when going for maximum horsepower gains. Since my Z will never see a track day and I don't race everybody on the drive home, I don't really need high RPM as much as I would like a little more torque down low. Most of the NA mods I have researched do a good job of adding power up top. Is this just the result of our engine having a modest displacement? Without going SC, are there any mods capable of positively affecting the low RPM torque in our cars?

If you wanted to keep TQ you shouldnt have gotten a true dual exhaust-should stayed with a Nismo or something similar. Test-pipes give a nice TQ increase in the mid-range tq they may lose a little bit down low with a trua dual exhaust dont know about with a Y-pipe. Not much you can really do, a crank pulley would help free some losses, besides that all you can do is raise the compression if you want to stay NA. If I wanted a "torquey" V-6 I would do a Nismo exhaust, test-pipes, Crawford headers (Which i always hear do great on the low and mid range TQ) and the 350 EVO gear set to get off the line quicker, and to have shorter gears. and a technosquare reflash to top it off. BTW, my technosquare reflash netted me 13 ft lbs of TQ more over my "untuned" mods combo.

I considered the Nismo but couldn't really swing the extra $$. Plus, I came up on a good deal on the Borla. Do you have to send in your ECU for the Technosquare reflash? Apparently this gives some really good gains. How much is the reflash BTW?
