Default Rear windshield was shattered, glass trapped...

So I purchased my Z and found out later a piece of shattered glass in the arm rest area, which then clicked with me that, that was what was vibrating in my rear hatch. Turns out the plastic covering on the hatch has glass stuck inside and I'm unsure as to how to remove the plastic, I tried prying it loose but didn't go, didn't want to break anything. Any ideas as to how I can remove the plastic and clear it out?

What he said. Literally that's what you have to do, and try pulling directly perpendicular to the hatch surface. There are small plastic (or rubberish, I can't remember) connectors that spear-head straight into circular holes in the hatch, so pulling straight out is the best approach. I used the handle of an ice scraper to get in there and pry the plastic apart from the hatch for the first few connectors.

I'm not sure how glass could fall between the trim piece and the metal though. Wouldn't the broken glass just fall into the trunk area

Especially straight. Any angle and it'll be harder.

And now that I think of it, I have no idea where that trim piece even is right now. I took it out to remove my rear wiper and never put it back in.

Which also reminds me, I have no clue where my rear wiper assembly is either.

Highly interested. I'll even do your one better. I have a personal check from another deal that didn't go through. All written out and ready to go for $500. I'll give you the check, you give me the difference in cash and I'll take that trim off your hands. Whaddaya say?

I got it finally ripped off, got a few pieces of glass out, turns out that there's now glass inside the hatch itself, that keeps making a sound when the hatch is opened. By inside the hatch, I mean in this area...

Any ideas?

Personal check is for Stone Age. PayPal and cash is the way of the future buddy, but I only accept gold. So if you want mine rear windshield wiper, I'll trade you with any gold that has 9999 stamp mark on it. But don't ever try to pull a stunt on me by sending those left over golden nuggets you got at McD 20 pieces for $5 from last night.

Do you still have the item? Kindly return to me your address and I will have my transporter pick up the check. I will require your full name SSN address and any other personal info you may feel safe sending to me to complete this transaction.
