Hi All, I am new to this site, so G'day from down under and I hope somebody can assist with my question.. I have a 2003 convertible 350z... The roof has rips in it and requires replacing... I recently brought a roof complete with material roof, framework and convertible motor, it is a genuine part (brand new) and worth a lot of money... I was informed it was for my model 350z, however when I opened the shipping crate and checked the invoice indicating the part number, with the Nissan parts site online, I found it was a roof for a Nissan 370Z (2009-2015 model) ... I was shattered... My question is I was informed by the person I bought the roof off that 350z & 370z roofs are interchangeable and with a few minor modifications the 370z convertible roof will fit my 350z???
My current roof frame, motor all works fine... I just need to replace the material, so my second question is ... Are the 350z & 370z material roofs identical??
If any body could offer some sound advice, I would appreciate your help... I am relatively new to the 350z scene, after wanting one for so long, I finally have one and have struck a hurdle that I cannot remedy myself... Cheers Mark

Unfortunately, the 350Z and 370Z roadsters have completely different roofs. The Z33R's roof is made of vinyl, while the Z34R is cloth. Different shapes and opening mechanisms as well, so your seller is wrong on almost every count.

Thanks dkmura.. i appreciate you taking the time to read and advise of the differences between the 350&370z's.. my only option now is to try and sell this 370z roof and start again... disappointing thing is I bought this from Nissan and they said All the convertible roofs were virtually the same... I even gave him my VIN NO: before purchase and he assured me it would fit my model roadster. No worries someone out there will be picking up a very cheap 370z roadster roof setup.. if anyone is interested in the roof please let me know... thanks again dkmura.. I appreciate your help..Mark

You're welcome- but one further bit of advice: if this was a Nissan dealership you purchased through, I'd at least try the GM or sales manager to get the right part. You seemed to indicate you bought from an individual, but than mentioned the "disappointing thing" of buying through Nissan, which opens up other possibilities. Good luck!
