Nismo Cat Back + UR HFC = FAIL
I will be receiving my Berk HFCs tomorrow! I have had my Nismo exhaust just sitting in my room for over a week now. Installation comes Friday or Saturday! I will have support brackets too, so they should refrain from cracking.

But there are members that are running this setup and have not cracked their test pipes/hfc.
the nismo sucks, I dont understand why anyone would buy it. It seems like the exact same thing as stock? When I was in the market for exhaust it was at the bottom of my list. Am I missing something about it??

I just posted this question on another thread but since this thread is similar I'll post it here to.
I'm just wondering about the nismo cracking problem and instead of a flex y-pipe wouldn't something like the Ingalls "Stiffy" Engine Torque Damper work better by causing alot less engine flex?

I do know I am taking a risk with this setup, but aahh what the hell. All I can do now is hope for the best.

It could be the Y-pipe. If I keep the stock y-pipe, do you suppose that will help keep the cats from cracking?

Yeah i'm pretty convinced it's the nismo y pipe that is causing the issues - just doesn't seem to flex enough. I was also aware of this when I got HFC's I'm just surprised it was the y-pipe that cracked and not the HFC's.
Anyways Nismo sounds like stock but a bit deeper when your getting on it - and with HFC's it really wakes up. But it's still not obnoxiously loud or raspy like others - I was looking for a mild but better stock sound and I beleive this setup does it.

I just noticed something. My Nismo y-pipe has a some sort of a support tab right in the same place where the OP's y-pipe cracked. Interesting. I believe I have the latest edition of the Nismo exhaust.
