Thumbs up Ser_z's Build

I was working/looking for a Z for some time now and from time to time I thought that I had found the right one, every time I was about to pull the trigger and buy the one I had been looking at it would of been sold that day... After many times of this process repeating itself I thought I wasn't meant to get a z.. I had almost gave up , until I saw a PPW 350z with 22000 > miles on it I knew I had to have it so I went out that day took a rental car and traveled two and a half long hours to Pennsylvania where I purchased my new Z and had the ride of my life back!

Here is a picture of my new Z !

Just had purchased some Stillen HFC which I am excited to install in addition to the Nismo CAI and Borla exhaust which I had installed previously.

Just a couple of pics I took (Taking them off was the hard part a lot of heating them up and twisting in cramped area's and lots of Muscles ha! I wish).

Finally got to test these out and they worked great and sounded even better might need something a little louder for an exhaust later on down the road.

More to come!

Talking :update:

So this winter has been Shi***g on us to say the least what made it worse was having to wait 6 months in order to drive the Zed never mind being infected with the mod bug and buying all these parts only to have to wait to install them all…

I’ve been hording this whole winter…and finally the weather is turning out to be nice so I’m taking the Zed out! Nuff Said!!

Oh how could I forget my buddy and I are putting my Zed on the lift this Sunday (if everything goes to plan) Putting/Swapping in my new suspension as well as new exhaust Motordyne TDX V2 (don’t know about putting in the headers just yet until I have a tune planned at VTR).

Sometime in early May I’m hoping to install the headers as well as putting the Zed on the dyno and make some good Numbers from an upRev tune at VTR. Then planning on stopping by Oneighty to get my headlights painted got a custom vision in mind going to look awesome !

No I mean I've thought of it but it doesn't suit my style to much. I like the rounded look of the stock Z's bubble butt lol

Thumbs up Update #3

So I haven’t updated as I would have like since I’ve been crazy busy and I feel as these iPhone pics aren’t doing too much justice, but there hear and it's something lol

So about a week ago me and my bud got to finishing my suspension by installing my BC br Coilovers (lowered the car 1.75 in the rear and 1.25 in the front) the car handles amazing grips like gum in Rapunzel’s hair! I set dampening to an even 12 clicks around now just wondering how long the coils will last in NY any bets?! Haha

Going down to see Vinny Ten on May 2nd and getting my Stillen Ceramic coated headers wrapped in DEI titanium black and then an Uprev tune! Hoping to break 300hp and maybe 270tq I might be dreaming on the tq part, but you never know.

Thumbs up Update #4

Going to VTR tomorrow to finally get my Headers wrapped installed then an UpRev tune excited to see some good numbers!

(Will Post Charts / Numbers , hopeing he will take a video of my dyno pulls)

I'm kind of upset with myself wondering if I should have opted out for some good Long Tube Headers while I'm still N/A...well it's too late now lol

Not too sure as to whether I want to stay in the N/A game ("more expensive way to go slow") or to go into boost..

Would love to have a N/A Z that can Rev to 9000+ rpms! (Weekend Car)

Would also love to have a baby GTR with 600 hp and 490 tq! haha

Getting new picks of the Z as you read (interior and all, had to get rid of the shitty cell phone pics Quality > Quantity) If only this shitty rain would go away.

Added New Pics to Update #2 show me some love for trying! lol

-Mike

Lightbulb Officially Dyno Tuned at VTR (Vinny Ten Racing) Videos

Today was a great day!

First off let me start off by saying everyone at VTR where very helpful and professional I'm glad I choose them to get things done right!

Thank you again,

Vinny, Brandon, Rocky (Everyone else who I didn't mention and worked on my car thank you just as much!)

So I dropped my car off Friday May 2nd at VTR for a Stillen Header install/DEI wrap and an Uprev tune the car was picked up Saturday May 3rd and boy was I happy!

I'm pretty sure the original Un-tuned with full bolt-on numbers where around 254 whp 229 ft-lbs on their dynojet.

Their Torque reader/display was acting a bit fuzzy I was told, but gave a decent enough reading.

Then came the tune! The final outcome was 287 hp with 26~ ft lb

Car feels so nice!!! With a 30+ gain all around I couldn't be happier, but not just because the number those are just numbers the feel is what gets me it just pulls non-stop feels amazing throughout the revs!!!

Here is a video of one of the last dyno charts to show you what I meant by the tq monitor receiver (No tq curve show) But great Hp! all and all I couldn't have asked for more!

Will post more pics from my Nikon d3k of their new shop I wish them all the best of luck and will look forward going back to them for my TT build there I said it :O

Nice progress. Just an fyi, you're supposed to install endlinks with the suspension loaded. Apparently it will preload the sway bars wrong or something

Thank you! this build has been a busy and amazing / rewarding trip! Yeah I found out a bit later in the day and had everything fixed lol running smooth just need an alignment to wrap her up, although I might bump the dampening up in the rear to 15 seems a bit to soft

Thank you ! Was thinking of doing a clutch and fly wheel next as well as an LSD any opinions on what I should do.

Not a daily Driver yet I don't want something that will make driving the Z leg day.

Was thinking a Jim wolf clutch and flywheel and a Quaife LSD

Opinions on that set up?

Nice progress! Great choice going with PPW BTW . Regarding the JWT clutch/flywheel combo and the Quaife LSD, I've heard and read nothing but very positive reviews. Seems like the way to go for those wanting a serious performance upgrade without losing or affecting any of the drivability. Good luck.

You too brother PPW is just the way to go lol and thank you I'm going to need it I will be going with a Quaife ATB Differential ATB Helical LSD Differential ($1076) and a JWT 350Z Clutch / Flywheel Combo 07-08 HR Engine ($774)

Bigger brakes should come at some point lol

Might give the 1/4 a go and see what time I can trap.

Default Update #5

Haven't really been posting to much on my build been saving up for an engine build as well as going into boost...and a different front bumper exterior parts.

Should have updates soon.

Saving for a LSD

V3 Front bumper

Boosted performance Single twin scroll turbo kit

VTR Built engine

I'm interested in this kit because it's weight is located more towards the center vs the traditional all in the front.

I have picked up a pair of TOYO R888's though so they should be a nice fun upgrade!
