Default Update on #1307

Haven't posted in a while so decided make one right now. So far, my baby is still sitting great xD And the at the moment all i have done is put a new head unit, and a new antenna on it (yea i have no money atm lmao) but anyways, this summer I will be getting a job thats gonna be paying me good (13$ an hr) . So by the time school starts for me again, I should have atleast 6.k so I am planning on getting an exhaust, and then coils, and then some engine work or something. I was thinking about the HKS Hi power exhaust or the replica (not sure yet, the replica is a fraction of the real one, and almost everyone that owns it loves the replica), or maybe a magnaflow, or straight pipe. Anyone know anything bout these 4 exhausts? I'm asking because I want some previous experienced owners to give me tips than me just going blindly down the wrong road. And also, what do you guys think about the replica hks on ebay, is it too cheap etc. Also would I be getting into some trouble with cops if I straight piped? Thanks again for the tips guys

I would save for atleast a used real hks exhaust. Don't cheap out on your nismo. It's a nismo! treat it like one.

What kno said, IMO you shouldn't cheap out on any z let alone any vehicle.
Why are you wanting to do any of that to your Nismo in the first place? It's already amazing from the factory, are you out using it to it's max capability? If not and you still want to improve it, spend a couple grand and go to a good driving school and learn to push your Nismo to it's limits.

Yea that's what I was thinking, I dont think its right to cheap out on a nismo with a replica, so i was looking for opinions. I really love the sound of the HKS so i might go for that. And I know it looks and performs great stock but man, lowering it looks sooo good.

Thanks, Bith, for saying that. I missed my cue.

OP, you have #1307????? Dayam, I wouldn't mess with that AT ALL. LAST of the Z33 Nismos! Just my opinion. I'm not messing with #1066 FTM... Hahahaha.

But seriously, I DRIVE my Nismo and love the relative "exclusivity" (not meant as a brag or pen** extension - more an appreciation of what the car represents to the Z community). Hell, I tried to get a custom plate for the car, "1OF1307" but CA DMV nixed it.... (I think because the "1" is a reserved plate series.) Had to settle for something else.

Again, my opinion here but if you want a car to mod, try another Z, that actually needs some goodies. (That which you'll be able to determine after going to driving school. Hahahahahaha!)

That's why I have another Z for me to play with....

Mic

I thought you'd appreciate that Mic, people these days don't appreciate what the Nismo z33 represents, they'd probably take a Fairlady Z 432 and throw a bunch of tasteless mods on it too.

Excuse me, I just threw up a little.

By the way, OP, I was thinking about what you said about how lowering the car would make it really nice looking. I would agree with that and springs are probably OK, being easily reversible. But, not sure how or even IF you can find a set of springs to match the Yamaha dampers correctly and giving true performance gains. Nissan did a pretty respectable job with the suspension in the Nismo and IMO, the second reason for owning one (behind the aforementioned "exclusivity").

Again, all IMO and YMMV.

No, you're right.... I just re-read my own post and went.... "Wait, uhhhh.... doy...."

1607 is the number.

Z33 is the code number for all 350Zs ('03-08 coupe, '04-09 ZRs) just as the predecessor '90-'00 (worldwide) were Z32s and the successor 370Z '09-present are Z34s. Oh, and the model prior ('83-89) were Z31s which was the first time they used the "Zxx codes". Prior models were S30 (GEN 1 '69-78) AND S130 (GEN 2 '79-82 ZX)

The HKS is a fraction of the cost for a reason. Do a few hours overtime and go for the real thing you WILL notice the difference.
