Tochigi_236’s 2007 350z Nismo #0236

Hello everyone,

New guy to the forum. First off, I have to give credit to Brandon3434 for using his thread template; it’s super clean. I’ve been lurking around My350z for about month now. I was originally in the market for an Evo IX MR, however, I came across a Nismo that I couldn’t pass up.

The Story of my Nismo

I originally located a PPW Nismo with just over 9k miles, but it literally sold within a few hours of me contacting the seller. I continued my search on multiple sites, and that’s when I came across the MB Nismo I eventually purchased with just over 12k miles. After a 13hr trip to Ohio I finally had my Z, purchased from The Toy Barn. The sales rep who assisted me with the purchase met me on a Sunday morning, in the rain, then gave me a full tour and history lesson of the Toy Barn (They have some seriously high end cars there). From the initial phone call down to driving away, the sales experience was like nothing I’ve encountered, not once did I feel pressured into purchasing the vehicle, and the rep answered EVERY question I had. The original owner (I’m the second) had a plethora of cars and decided to sell the Z. He was obviously a “car guy,” because the vehicle came with the original purchase sticker in a frame, the original Cert. of Authenticity, and all of the maintenance records (only serviced at Nissan), amongst other goodies. I was hesitant to drive the car back home (10hr on the highway) until I discovered the car already had a clear bran installed which gave me a bit more confidence driving home where I washed her twice within a few days, and continue wipe her down daily, even those she’s garage kept. lol

Currently, I have no major plans for the car besides tint and a titanium Nismo shift ****. It'll mostly stay parked in the garage until the weekend and/or summertime when the weather is best. I am mostly interested in enjoying/learning the car as is and possibly getting some track/instructor time to become more familiar/confident with the car. My daily is a 94’ Civic coupe, and as you can imagine it is night and day vs. the Z.

On to the pics!!

Thanks! I'm sure I'll be able to find an excuse or two to take her out more than the occasional nice day.

Nice Nismo, it's good to know you can still find a clean one, only pet peeve of mine is the aftermarket stereo.

Talking 37mpg FTW!!!

I just left the house, headed towards the freeway when I decided to reset the gas gauge. The best I got previously was high 20's to low 30's. I was in 5th gear doing around 50mph.

It took some looking, but there are still a handful of them out there with relatively low mileage and decent condition. I'm still on the lookout for the person who bought the PPW with 9k I was looking at. I wasn't a big fan of the aftermarket stereo either, I'd rather just listen to the car as I drive. lol

They're still out there! Still, the HR wasn't a bad decision. Thanks for the welcome.

Wow! I thought I was doing good this morning on my way into work getting 30mpg doing 50-60mph in 6th, I drive about 50 miles to/from work and usually average 25-27mpg in traffic.

It would be way too much of a hassle to get a new car after owning this for 2 months. After just moving and such I want to take a break from the credit checks lol. Currently, I am working on saving some money anyways I still plan on doing the front and rear bumper eventually though.

Thumbs up Garage Queen & Dealer Goodies!

As promised, here are a few other pics. I had to snap a few photos before I garaged her. Yes, the garage is very small, but work keeps me fairly busy so the least I could do was provide her with a decent home. haha

<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/135025284@N06/19999848666/in/dateposted-public/" title="How it currently sits."><img src="https://farm1.staticflickr.com/338/19999848666_d9c7123e8f_c.jpg" width="700" height="700" alt="How it currently sits."></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Here are a few of the goodies I got from the dealership: Extra set of Keys, USB with a ton of hi-res photos, and free car services when I bring her back. I'll post a few other goodies sometime this weekend.

I was surprised myself, haha. I did not expect that from the Z.

I can definitely understand that! haha After purchasing the car I've shifted my priorities back to saving and a home purchase. However, IF you are ever in the market for a Nismo, I started a thread tracking the ones for sale. Check it out, I plan on updating it weekly. https://my350z.com/forum/nismo-350z/...al-number.html

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forums!
If I'm not mistaken, there was a TSB on the concentric slave cylinder (CSC) for 2007 models. Some people had the issue, others didn't. May be worth looking into if it was done or not.

My PPW Nismo is also a garage queen and I enjoy it every time I take it out. Hopefully you can track it here and there.
