Wait until I make it pretty again haha. Its by far in the ugliest form Ive ever had it. And the inside and outside are both crazy dusty from all the body work. Its really a disaster

It'll all be worth it once it's done though. I think I saw somewhere that you are trying to keep the power levels about the same with the V7? Just prep for built motor at some point?

Also, convinced the shop owner to drop the trans and inspect the flywheel alignment on Thursday/Friday. Free of charge if their mistake. I'm 99% sure it's a misaligned flywheel or sensor in there. $350 gamble, but I'm confident.

Yea that mixup sucks but at least its getting taken care of.

And I will be increasing power, but not a crazy amount. I know the v7 will feel more sluggish being that its a much larger parasite than the v2. So all Ive done is swap the cog pulleys from a 32/28 setup to a 34/28 setup to hopefully compensate for that parasitic loss.

As far as how much boost or power I will have, I have absolutely no clue. I called vortech a while ago and told them my situation. I asked what kind of boost levels I should expect if I leave the pulleys the same. Their response was "We have no idea, I can't even give you an estimate because we have no records of anybody ever putting a JT-trim on a 350z".

Pioneering. Brave man. And I would think that cog setup will equal out to your old V2. You'll have all of that done before I even have my first blower installed.

Also, calling JWT tomorrow to see how to determine whether a flywheel is for the DE or HR. Can't find a single thread on it and at this point, I don't really trust the guy that I bought it from and had all those other problems with...

I dont expect the fuel system to be a quick task, but we will just see how it goes.

And I know his car was a G and G's only came with the DE so you should be in good shape there

Fuel stuff always takes much longer than it should. Learned that with the past two cars we worked on here.

And I just didn't trust anything he sent me at this point. But I did find a single post that tells me I have a DE flywheel. I'll contact JWT to be sure. Looks more and more likely that it's just in the wrong orientation.

Well hopefully that is the case and it gets sorted. If it is just oriented wrong, then you have had every possible issue that could arise with a clutch/flywheel.

That really sucks when you pay a professional to do something and they don't do it right. Especially when they deny any wrong doing and you need to try and figure it out. If it was just a rando customer who didnt know anything about cars they would have just brought it back and said fix it... At least you took the time to point them in the direction of their mistake.

Who knew I had a ratcheting system in my car. Worked really well to hold the roll bar forward

And in case you guys were curious, Charles at CJM is an extremely helpful guy. I talked to him originally when I ordered my dual pump fuel basket and he helped me sort out everything else I need.

Then I just came up with a rough wiring diagram for my pump setup and he's checking over it for me and giving feedback. If I need future fuel parts, I will be going to CJM even if the price is higher.

Glad to hear he's giving the CJM initials a good name... And I love that ratcheting system haha I never would have thought of that!

Z is back in the shop getting fixed (hopefully). Hope to have it back and functioning tomorrow

If it somehow doesn't come out of that shop functioning, then let me know. My brother, myself, and the other guy we do side work with will be happy to get it straightened out for you. We did my clutch at that shop and it was a breeze.

Also hate to break it to you but his initials are CJ, because the M is for motorsports. But nonetheless, its close enough

CJ, close enough - I'll take it. And will do. I'll drop the trans here on our lift (yes finally have a lift in the garage) and check it out. Will call for backup if needed.

Also, looking for in-car holster recommendations at the moment if anyone has some input

I dont have any holsters to recommend because I dont use a holster for my Bodyguard. I put a small clip on the side so it sits in my pocket like a pocket knife would. And when I get in the car it just stays in my pocket

That's what I've been doing for now, but mine's a bit too bulky for my tastes.

Got the Z back. They confirmed the flywheel was misaligned by one hole. Fixed free of charge, but said that it's a horrible design for a flywheel and way to easy to install incorrectly. Oh well, Z is functioning again and I can start doing break in miles.

When we changed my clutch it was very easy. So not sure if they actually struggled or just wanted to rush through the job. Either way, at least its all squared away.

What are you currently carrying? Im working up the courage to commit to a Sig P238. I dont want to toss $600 at something I dont need right now so I will probably wait for a decent price at the Oakes gun show.

It was a European specialty shop and not a transmission shop, so it wasn't their area of expertise...but still.

And I recently picked up a S&W 642 (.38+P). Out the door at the local small town store was about $480. Extremely light at under 15oz is what drew me too it. Was on the fence between .357 and .38+P, but some homework showed me they have very similar impact. Not worth the extra $150 for a .357. Small enough to still put in my pocket, which is impressive for a revolver.

Yea those are nice. They feel fantastic in your hand as well.

If you ever need any other work done in the future let me know and I can have my brother and Jeremy do it. Prices will definitely be good as well

May be looking for a header install at some point, but other than that, I think I'll be DIYing everything from here on out. I'll keep it in mind though!

I actually had Pride Auto do my headers because Robert and Jeremy were still salty from doing Brent's mustang headers. But they probably wont have a problem with it because the PPE headers on the G35 really weren't bad.

Also made some good fun progress yesterday. Ended up getting it all wired and got the basket in the tank, and now just to put the actual fuel lines in. I had to make my own wiring schematic because there isn't anything else out there. There is officially 1 person out there that can work on my fuel system...
