Default shop recommendations in hawaii?

like the title says im in need of a shop in Hawaii, pretty much for tuning as ill do the mechanical work myself. army is stationing me there and i was looking at going the single turbo route with my 03 z, nothing crazy just single turbo at 7 or 8 lbs boost for now =P well with supporting mods. sorry if its on here somewhere i looked but couldnt find anything for Hawaii specifically

Monkey wurks or sonics. Those are the 2 shops I would recommend.

both shops are good but I like munkywurks just bcuz i've done most of my work there, sonics has a dyno and munkywurks has dynapacks. So really.....its up to you

again thanks alot ill have to check out both places =D sounds like theirs plenty of a community there as well im excited to get there now(although from what im told its gona take about a month to get my car there =/)

Yeah, turnaround time for a car to get here is about a month. That time will go by quickly though. When are you expected to get here? Just curious.

supposed to arrive about 10pm local tonight, atm im sitting in atlanta waiting for my flight to lax in three hours. i might have to hang out around the shops a little bit while waiting for my car to get there since the wife isnt coming yet eaither, she has already been giving me evil eyes over the car. i should try and hide my obsessions more lol.

No kidding? I wasn't aware that Munky had a dyno.........OP I'd say in that case either shop is fine.

Depends on what you're looking for OP. Sonics does UTEC, Munky Wurks does OSIRIS. And yes, Munky Wurks has a dynapack

Ill prob have to go check out sonics then since I was already planning on buying a utec that is in the marketplace and that seems to be a recommended system

bringing up an old thread in the wrong area but how do you like the utec and how was the tune at sonics? also if you dont mind me asking, how much did they charge you?

i actually dint have it professionally tuned i just messed with it a little becuase there wasnt much done to the car. worked fine on minor things but bumping up to a turbo kit and 800cc injectors when i get back from deployment, i heard the utec may have problems with injectors over the 550-600cc range. bleh im gona miss driving my car for so long when i leave =(

i was thinking of going with the utec too. but when i did a search and chatted with other forum users they really didnt have anything great to say about the utec. The uprev tuner sounds awesome, but crazy hard to tune myself.
