Shops on Oahu
I'm looking for recommendations for shops to do some work on my Z. Kind of looking for a one stop shop that does it all rather than dealing with specialty places.
In the near future I'm looking to lower my Z, body kit paint/instillation and some bolt on stuff.
Any help and personal experiences are appreciated. Not looking to get raped with "labor".

Came to the wrong island!
Pm me I'll do all your intake/exhaust/suspension work for one tenth the cost of a shops quote!
Body/shop work is all the same just depends on their work load at the time for them to put time and care into your car!

I thought u meant there's limited shops on Oahu . In terms of labor I don't see that much of a difference compared to mainland. So which island is the right island then?

No island.
Demand is high, cost of living is, and therefore labor is equally as much.
short story...
I took a control arm off my car. Took it to a shop with a press. I had the socket and everything to press it out. Shop told me it's $40 a bushing. that's $160 for the total work that took me 20 minutes at the hobby shop after I left the shop.
Again not bashing Hawaii in anyway.
I've lived and visit many of the islands on the planet and it's the same every where I've been.
United States Virgin Islands is where I attended High School for a few years.
the cost of an oil change was $120 on a 1989 cherokee!
Why?

lol man either i cant read well and comprehend u or ur not good at explaining urself. cus ur all over the place. were talking about hawaii and u mention the virgin islands and ask "why" like im supposed to have experience in that and have an answer for u. i guess it could be rhetorical but still its not like were talking face to face so its kinda hard to catch online sarcasm.

i know im a bit late to the party but unless your comparing to cali, new york or alaska hawaii is ridiculous in price vs the main land. perfect example had my engine bored and honed no torque plate, 45 bucks a cylinder, back home in ohio bore and hone WITH a torque plate 15 bucks a cylinder. engine deck on oahu $240, back home $100, hot tank the engine oahu. $75, back home free with other work done. all in all it cost me $1000 in machine work without any assembly which back home would have cost me about 300-375 depending on which shop i went to. i see several places charging 100-120 an hour for standard mechanical work which back home the standard for the exceptional shops is 75 an hour and if you dont care and take it to the shady places can get it as low as 45 an hour.
