Twin Cities Z Club timed rally event - final plans
Updated plans!
So here's the plan:
Saturday, August 25th
Meeting time at my house by 1130 (at the latest!)
First 5 cars leave at noon (sharp); 1 minute intervals.
BYOB (beverages and beef) for party after driving event
This is every person for themselves (no passengers).
Each person will have a map that we plan on providing.
Bring your camera phones fully charged.
Only the event organizer (Tara) will know the way points and estimated driving times.
At the start of the event, everyone will get a list of way points.
Rules, maps, lists, and everything else will be discussed at 1130.
Each car will leave at one minute intervals and drive to each way point in the order given.
When the car arrives at that way point, the driver will take a photo of the landmark and text it to Tara.
A poster sized score card will be maintained to track the texts (time rcvd).
Once you send the text, move on to the next point and do the same thing.
Finish the event by returning to my house.
No one will know the base time between each segment. This ensures that no one can really cheat, but everyone must obey the rules of the road. In other words, take your time because whoever comes closest to the base time for each segment wins that segment.
When everyone gets back to the house, Tara will go over the segments, the times, etc. WE can also share our stories.
Finally, the winner who wins the most segments will get the jackpot prize. The prize will consist of the buy-in money for this event. To enter, have $10 in cash before the event. This fee is per car. This guarantees a commitment for each driver to show up and finish the event.
So here's the list of participants:
1. Dave
2. Greg
3. Erik
4. John (end of Z world)
5. Ryan SR71

GF's and wives can hang out at my house with my wife. On top of her tracking everyone's progress, she will also be getting everything ready for the gang when we all get back to eat.
Sorry about that, Aaron. Sucks that the farm is keeping you so busy. Wish you could make it to at least this event.
I'm already thinking/planning the Fall colors tour.

I think we should try multiple planned get togethers / events ideas (IN THE FALL) around ppls schedules who can't attend, maybe one get together per man who has trouble attending, it'd only be a few extra get togethers, if we all make it great if only some of us great, catch my DRIFT

We always have a end of the year thing going on. Plus you can't plan anything and set a date when you're a farmer. Aaron is a very busy person and when he does get a chance to get away from the farm I bet the last thing on his mind is a Z get together. If he can make one event for the year that's pretty good. He was able to make last years, but the past 3-4 years before that he hasn't been able to make any, and that's just the life of the farmer. Which is one reason he's getting sick of doing it. I don't know what his future plans are, maybe waiting for land prices to go back up and sell the land and retire for the rest of his life.

Z poker tourney at Aaron's pole barn? Yes? lol
Greg, we rode our bikes past your house today. I was taking the kids around to all the parks in a 1 mile radius. Nice day for a ride.

So I never send pics with my phone since I don't have data and really only make calls and a few texts here and there, well I just tried to send a pic as a test to see how it works and my phone wont lest me send it. FML. Can I just use my p/s camera to take the pics that has a time/date stamp on it and log them all at the end or am I SOL on this event?

Nice!! I think at that time me and Kristen went over to that park for a walk that's over by the frontage road by the church. There's a secluded beach back in there that's pretty cool.
