Question Quick Question For My Local Guys...

If you have experience with this...
I have a set of springs from my previous Z that I'm selling. I have seen online from several forums/boards that the stock Z springs WILL work on the G35 Sedan and Coupe: 1in drop for sedan and .5in drop for coupe.
Can anyone here confirm?

Apparently I have a guy interested who is having issues installing them on his 04' G35 Sedan. States, "Will not slide in and around the front shock absorber and rears did not set right with the rubber gaskets".
Is he possibly not doing it correctly? Or additional parts required.
I read where springs went on in a snap no modification required.

Here are a couple of pics I found after Z Springs were installed:

I would think that the stock springs for the Z would be perfect for a G-sedan.

I would think that the Coupe would have shorter oem springs than the sedan.

Jake or Jason should be able to tell ya for sure.

Did you sell them to him for 200 bucks? I think I rolled his fenders last night... He got ripped off on the springs..

They will work just fine - Ive done this swap tons of times.. Should be about 1 inch (really 3/4) drop all around..

Just give him his $$ back - Im going to find him a better deal and getting him revised springs for about a bill. I dont know what you sold him but its obviously not working and for $200 bucks - dude could have gotten some used hotchkis for that price..

Uhhm thx for your input, but new OEM 350Z Springs for $200 is more than fair. They were not on my car even a week anddon't even have residue on em'. They provide a great 1in drop on the sedan and PLENTY of owners are happy with the results. I have scoured the Infiniti boards for info, pricing, fitment etc. So that's YOUR opinion and you're entitled to it.

After speaking to a couple of shops and PMing G owners, this is a "Direct Bolt Up" if you know what you are doing... period.
The sale was legit.

Thx anyway.

what year did they come off of.?. who cares about the price - you made your $$... i just care about the fitment of the springs you sold him..

I hear ya Jake and I am certainly not the type of cat to intentionally SHAFT anyone on a sale. I have sold tons o' stuff and never had one issue.
To answer your question: these are the non-revised Springs prior to 2004.5 Models. When I researched if they would in FACT work here is where I went:

http://www.g35driver.com/forums/brak...ion-pix-2.html

Specifically spoke to the G35 Sedan owner who performed the install himself and paid $50/spring by the way with much more mileage on them.
Here is my recent email sent to customer:

This is a G35 Sedan owner who explains just what you need to know! http://www.g35driver.com/forums/brak...ion-pix-2.html
Specifically post #: 17, # 20 (guy paid exactly what you paid with more miles!) # 25 (the unrevised ones are what you have which are best!) # 28, # 29 And there are several more pages you can read. I think you are gonna need a hand with the install Bro.
My Z was the 03 going into 04 model.

^^Correct - G-owner will be coming over today... we all came to the conclusion that he may just be installing them wrong (user error) I have comparable springs to compare to.

somehow he was supposed to get a 1 inch drop...but got a 1 inch lift..

Maybe he didn't line up the spring seats? I could see how that might get you a lift.

Man I've done several spring installs on Z's and can't imagine what would cause a lift. Does this guy already have drop springs and not know it? LOL

Default How are these Z springs?

Its not user error....

Z Springs on the left ...................... TXStyle springs on the right

Z springs on the bottom................... TXStyle springs up top

OEM on the left, ............ look how skinny the tops are on the other springs on the right

Z Spring on top.........................TXStyle spring on the bottom (now I see where he got his 1 inch lift)

Okay... I'm a FOKUP!!!

I just got off the phone with the guy who text me a comparison photo from the springs I sold him and another set of Z springs and clearly they are different. I just took my *** outside in the garage and whadda ya know... I still have the Z Aprings sitting in the original Eibach Box from when I swapped mine out! What springs did I sell him do you ask? And why did his car actually raise up...?
Are you ready for this... Because those are focking Lexus OEM GS Springs from my Lexus!!! LOFL!!!

And the Award goes to... ME.
