Default Osiris Tune Results! Church Automotive *Video*

What a day. I drove up to Church in the morning to get tuned. 1 block from the shop, I hit a NASTY pothole and blew out 2 tires (Passenger side front & rear). Thankfully, Ryan @ Church took me to a nearby tire shop to get me going. That was real nice of him.

Mods are:
K&N Drop In
Motordyne 5/16 Spacer Iso Thermal MREV2
X02 Exhaust with Magnaflow resonated X-pipe
Resonated test pipes

Driving Impression

As you can see, low and mid range torque was vastly improved. This is something I noticed right away when driving home. Cruising on the freeway on the stock tune around 2500-3000 rpm felt like it just didn't want to go. A lot better now on the performance tune. Now it feels alive at cruising speeds. upon exiting the toll booth, I had a wide open area with almost no on around. Took up to the top of third. Boy was I happy.

Gains
Only gained a few peak horspower but look at the graph at around 5600 RPM. A good 25+ hp gain in that area. Also take at look at the tq graph around 3k and 3700 rpm.

Also, take a look at the AFR. Sean said I was running very lean due to having test pipes.

Every tune is different. Appears your primary gain is torque not horsepower. About 9 percent. I would be happy with that.

No offense but so does xact's. Both spit out ridiculous numbers. I always wondered if I could break 310 on church's dynopack.

hahaha na man. I looked at all the other Z's and G's on his comp lol SOME came close, but mine so far is the highest bolt on Z he has seen, my tuner said only one that came close had cams and was at 285whp, we were both happy to see gains i got. Talking DE engines ofc. Now imagine if i was using 93 octane like u, pretty sure i would be at 285.

who cares, whether the dyno reads high or not. Look at the gains, which are good especially in the trq. curve. congrads op.

For anyone thinking of getting this done, I'd highly recommend it. Driving around at low to mid RPM's is amazing now. Take a second look at the tq graphs at 2500, 3000, and 3800 RPMS. Almost feels like an HR.

Very good gains, peak hp only last maybe 2 sec then shift, but thats alot of usable power and torque there man.

Not to be a pooper but your low speed driving around impressions are at part throttle right? But this dyno plot is of wot right? Did the tune also alter other throttle % areas, for cruising? Or was all tuning done wot?

Hi Jay, glad you are happy with the tune!

For reference guys, Dynapacks are supposed to read higher than roller dynos. That's simply how it works because you are removing the wheels and tires which sap power on a roller.

If you'd like the physics of it, you can visit my website. There is also a great reference article from the the SAE (www.sae.gov - do a search) called "Listening to the Voice of the Consumer - Chassis Dynos". In this SAE paper they specifically measure all the different losses from crank to roller. In particular, the loss from wheel/tire weight/inertia, strap down tension and tire contact patch losses account for up to half of the losses on a roller dyno. Since the Dynapack removes all those things it should read higher. If it didn't something is wrong.

So please, before making trite comments about "high reading dynos", please make sure you understand how they work.

I assume this is primarily aimed at me. I am all too familiar with the discrepancies b/w the differing dynos. If you look back I always give you guys (church's) plenty of support. Your gains are always very solid, and I come over h-t (joined a LONG time ago) where you guys have an exemplary reputation and great customer service. All that said, I just wanted to point out that your dyno does in deed read very high. I get all kinds of pm's from people saying I hope to make XXXwhp because I saw it in the XXXX thread......usually one from church's. I am just trying to keep it in perspective for the masses. Keep up the good work Sean and crew.

Nice numbers. I'm thinking that I am going to go with Osiris after seeing this graph since our mods are about the same minus the z tube and nitrous.

Glad you like your tune! I doubt you will see or feel any difference. Most likely, yours will "feel" a lot fast due to you lower curb weight.

If your ever bored on the weekends or hit up Qualcomm, let me know. I usually just hang out on the weekends with the family.
