Innovate Wideband HELP!!!
I am trying to get that guage to read and I cant get it to work. I followed the directions for the LC1 which is the sending unit. For that box it says to unhook the O2 sensor. Connect 12 volts for 10 seconds then reslease. The connect the O2 sensor back together. I did that. The with a LED, connect it to the Calabration wire. The the light goes steady it ready. I started the car and waited for about 5 minutes and nothing. The guage is displaying 3 dashes where the Numbers should be with 2 dots lit up also. The directions told me to connect one of the Input/ Out put wires. There is a out put and a input coming from both the LC-1 and also the XD-1. I connected the output from The LC-1 to the input of the DX-1. There is still a output from the guage(XD-1) and a input from the sending Module(LC-1) that has not been hooked up. Please any information will be very helpful.
Thanks,
Thanks,
I am trying to remember from one we did, there is a wire that needs to be hooked up from the bundle that carries the widenband signal, sorry cannot be more help but this was a couple of months back I think it was a grey wire.

Any of hte MTS/LogChain devices MUST be terminated at the first device in the chain. In your case it's the LC-1.
So, you need to take that terminator plug which came with LC-1 (looks like a stereo plug), and plug it into the IN port of hte LC-1. That tell it's that's it the first device in the serial chain, and that it should generate the signal rather than expect one from another upstream device. The rest should be like you have it (from the OUT of the LC-1 to the IN of the XD-1). The out of hte XD-1 is used only if oyu wish to connect the chain to your laptop for datalogging.... in your case it's not as useful since you do not have an RPM input.

P.S. I would carefully read the XD-1 manual if I were you, it has some nifty tricks/shortcuts on the use of the button on the XD-1, for things like peak hold, etc, including the VERY useful feature of wideband device calibration. Here is what learned, set the car in coast in a relatively low gear, to make sure the injectors are turned off; here your engine becomes a fresh air pump with no combustion. While coasting, making sure your foot is off the gas pedal, press the XD-1 button quickly three times, you will get "CAL" display. Now press the button one more time, and the wideband is calibrated within 2-3 seconds. DO this every 100 hours of use and oyu will have a fully calibrated wideband that is on par with or even better than all the widebands costing thousands more. I do this much more often than that (when I remember - certainly before every tuning session).

Alberto, that's what I was saying above
You do not need to run the calibration wire and LED and switch if oyu have it hooked up to an XD-1. The button sequence on the XD-1 allows you to calibrate the device in seconds.... The wire/switch method is just an additional capability they developed, for instances where you do not have an XD-1.

sorry to bring this back to life, but what exactly is the terminator plug? I'm not sure if i don't know what it is or don't see it.......could I just use the serial cable to plug into the "in" portion of the LC-1 to let it know there are no devices upstream?

it's the other cable that plugs into that "IN" stereo plug thing. right? I'm pretty sure i didn't get anything like that.

Contact innovate for a replacement terminator plug. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/contact.phpLet them know it was not in the box. If they charge you for the plug, let me know and I will reimburse you. Sorry for the inconvenience.
If I can get a pic of it i can figure out if i have it or misplaced it.
Yeah Sharif, this is Mike in FL. The box was freshly sealed when I got it...so it's definitely not an issue on your part......I'll have to dig around maybe, see if we can find it......or see if we can figure out how to use it without it.
