Question Anyone drive in the snow yet??

Checked weather.com 2day & it didn't work in the morning, so I took my car to work anyways. Needless to say, it has been snowing in Chicago ALL day. We'll see how VDC treats me today. Hopefully I can make it home safely......
-Anyone drive in snow yet? How was it?

I remember my old 300zx sucked in the snow, hehe

I would not attempt it unless you can add about 200 lbs in the rear.. I used to put sandbags in my old 260Z when I drove in the snow.. And.. I had 4 Metzler Blue Ice Snow tires on the car.. It was still very poor in the snow.. I would park your 350Z and find another way home.. Better safe than sorry..

Steve (k2we) Dobbs Ferry, NY where 6" of snow is expected tonight..

PS: I still have my 1996 GMC Yukon 4WD..

The "Z" is sitting in the driveway with it's new car cover installed...

Its not that bad out there. The streets are wet and not too slushy at all. I just hope you guys aren't on the stock tires. With A/S tires or snow tires you'd be totally fine.

Thumbs up home

Got home ok. The streets were just wet, so it felt like driving in the rain.

It was a pain getting off the parking lot, which had which felt like about 6 inches. It took me about 10 minutes to get the car into the garage. It was stuck in the snow, TCS helped a LOT.

Made it home fine, had MUCH more fun going out to lunch.

So my car has traction control? Sure didn't feel like it. Drove OK in a straight line, but putting ANY power down in /out of a turn, and the back end wanted to come around........and I was driving very cautiously. SLIDING IS FUN, BUT I NEED TO GET ON DOWN THE ROAD.

Ordered 4 LM 22 Blizzaks on Monday..........Damn wheels are backordered.

With snows, the car will be fine unless you are talking serious accumulation. Lets put it this way. I honestly think the 350Z with snow tires is way way way better then a G35 Sedan with the stock all seasons and I bet no worse then the G35 with snows. So how many G35 sedan owners are going to store the car for the winter?

i had the same experience as everyone else here. slush/wet roads weren't the problem. i was on the stock 040's w/ a 70lb sandbag in the hatch. they cannot handle more than a half inch of snow. i had to drive on a non-plowed street for 2 miles at 15mph. any more than that and the *** was everywhere. buying a/s ASAP
