Default 350z or Lancer Evo?

Hi i read up a bit on both cars and im still stuck between what i want to get. In one hand we have the 350z that is 100% pure sex apeal and then we have the EVo that is 100% raw 4wd power. The evos got plenty of space however im no family dad or anything. Does anybody here with the 350z miss having any space in your cars? I cant help but feel that evos are for soccer dads, however i dont want to be rollin down the street looking all pimp n stuff and not be able to hold my own against a fugly car like an srt4 or some rice bucket like a crx.

I have driven the 350Z for 43,000 miles and intend to keep it. If I wanted to drive a Lancer Evolution I would be driving one. Not sure if that is the answer you are looking for.

If you want decent performance mixed with great looks, get a Z. If you just want great performance and a fugly *** lookin car, get an EVO.

I am a single college student. Of course, my need for a back seat and big trunk is a little bit different for, say, a father or 2. However, for a single college student, I have never once missed the lack of space. In fact, I love it. 2 seaters are the best. You dont have to lug anyone or their luggage around.

As for performance...

350z
Pros: Much sexier, Funner to drive, "Z" Heritage, Fast enough
Cons: Fast enough, Responds poorly to mods other than F/I, 2 seater

Evo
Pros: Very fast stock, Easy to mod faster, AWD, Back Seat
Cons: Fugly, Cheap interior feel, Cheap exterior feel. F/I is required for any respectability

You need to take a look at your life and your circumstances and decide which is the better choice for you and which will make you feel happiest. A car is a reflection of the person driving it. Do you want nothing but raw power to the wheels? Get the Evo, unless you have 10k to spend on F/I for the Z. Do you want enough power to have fun with and a car that looks and feels drop dead gorgeous? Get the Z.

Personally, if I wanted an evo, I would have bought it. However, I don't race my car. I have a little fun with it once in a while but for the most part, I don't race it so I dont have a need for a super-fast car. The Z is fast enough to have adequate fun and control 99% of the road, getting you to your destination faster, funner, and safer.

If you feel that you need to prove yourself worthy by racing against an SRT4 or CRX, then by all means, get the EVO.

Two very different vehicles... for the amount of money you're about to spend, I wouldn't rely on someone else's opinion. Test drive both and do a little soul-searching on what's important to you.

Was next to a a modded (at least and exhaust) EVO IX just last night - sounded pretty good but man are they ugly.

Like others have said - if I wanted an EVO I would be driving one.

ive had the change to drive an evo on more than one occasion. My brother has an evo, and I have a Z. i love driving my car a lot more that driving his, its a pain to get into tight parking spots because of the poor turning radius. you have to like cut the wheel all the way. but its a lot easier to see out off and there isnt too many blind spots on the evo, when theres some on the Z. But i have noticed that the Z turns my heads than an evo does, cause here in MASS. evos are like civics, everyone has one.

The Evo is a much better platform for modding and reliable power. The Z is a nice clean car, but lacks in the performance arena. If the Evo wasn't such a riced vehicle, I'd definitely get one.

i have driven BOTH. now as for the Z, it has a more solid feel to it. the steering is alot heavier and power is a bit more responsive. as for the eveo, it rides a little soft steers on a dime, but has really bad turbo lag. you have to really rev the crap out of it before you even meet boost. stock for stock, the Z wins. as for modifications, inj, fuel pump, SAFC, boost controller and the EVO has 320AWHP. they love mods and are easier to tune.

my choice find a low miles 05 STi. good torque, and spool really fast. and ride as good as a Z

I was in the same situation as you are in except it was between a Z and a STI. I bought the Z....sometimes get dissapointed with the power potential. But I promise you if you get a Z and park it next to an Evo or a STI (in my case) and stand back and look at them....you'll know you made the right choice

You gotta go with the Z all the way. Do like I did if you want alittle more now and then out of your Z, its called a 100 shot of nitrous and thats all she wrote. I love my car even more now, looks awsome, handles awsome, sounds incredible and not much else I can say other than finominal car. I too got the urge to get alittle more out if it now and then when a Srt4 was abit quicker or some kid in and evo got me by a couple car legths. But with a 100 shot at the flip of a switch, Thats all i'll ever need!! Just my opinoin but I think it is as close to a perfect car as you can get!!
