New user, need advise which 350z to buy
Hello everyone,
I am a newbie and now looking at different years and models to buy. I wanted to ask for your advise, if I should prefer a :
2006 with low mileage
OR
2007/8 with higher mileage
(I am on a budget (arent we all..) )
I am confused with the different reviews I read, how many changes are there between these years..
Thank you in advance for helping join the family

it all depends on what you want really and what your budget is. when i was looking for my z i really didn't care what package it was i tried to look for lower miles and i think i got a good deal. Lower miles are always good but an 07 or up Z comes with the HIGH REV motor which doesn't come with the 03-06 Z, the high rev motor gets 300hp stock and the 03-06 gets 287hp unless it an anniversary edition Z.
i don't know man get what you want, if you want the 07 go for it but make sure it dosen't have too much miles, either way man your getting a Z, Nissan engineering at its best, your gonna get one of the best cars out there. THE Z IS ****IN AWSOME

Set some priorities. Which motor do you prefer? Which model best suits your needs?

Thank you CHUBBZ510 and davidv!
What do you mean exactly, to set my priorities ? and How should I use the service link you sent ?
I think I wouldnt buy the 2007 just because of the extra 13 HP. What else should I think about ?
Thanks again and sorry for my dumb questions..

I will probably change the head unit and add the smaller rear spoiler - if one is not there. Other than these 2 small upgrades - not really..
Let me ask it differently: Would a 07 worth a 1000$ over a 06, given same mileage, transmission and options ?
thanks again..

To me, I buy condition first then price, but if it really was me, I buy choose color first to condition then price. If the '06 was purple and lower mileage, I'd take that, if the '07 was solar orange and just couple thousands more, I'd take that first. If both are in same conditions with '07 higher mileage, I'd take '06.
depends on your definition of low and high miles... how many miles we talking about on each?
If it's close I would definitely go with the 07 because it has the HR motor which is known to be at least 0.5 seconds faster than the 06 in the 1/4 mile... if you don't care for that, go w/ the 06 w/ lower miles...

im not sure if i hit 7,000 on my 05 but it looks pretty damn close. it could be 6,900 but it get up there. the 07 and up sort of got expensive blot ons also. for example they have the dual air intake and you basically have to buy two intakes.

MaAAaaaan i wish i had that dual intake on my 05. THAT **** LOOKS AWSOME

06 DE Rev Up (and 05 Anniversary Edition) is listed at 300HP
07+ HR is listed at 306HP
If it the same model/options, mileage and condition then yes it is worth the extra $1,000. You usually see more of a cost difference than just $1k when going from an 06 to an 07 when the cars are identical.
