Default Got Lucky in the Z!!

<img src="http://www.inetaccess.com/twinzz/350z-7777.jpg">

Well...not THAT kinda lucky like Abyss, but I passed this mileage last weekend. This pic was a ***** to get. I forgot my digital camera at home, and going back to get it was out of the question since I would pass the lucky #'s. I borrowed my friends instead, drove till 7777 and parked. Camera dead battery!!@$#. I drive the .9 miles to a Longs Drugs, they do not carry that type of battery. I run 3 blocks down to a camera store, buy a disposable battery, run back and snap the picture you see above.

This happened about 2 days later:

I was on the freeway going about 80, from behind me I see a motorcycle cop chasing after me. I slow to about 70, notice him pull up next to me, and expect the dreaded "pull over" finger pointing. To my belwilderment and great surprise, he flashes me a big thumbs up and a smile. I give him 2 thumbs up in return. He speeds off.

8600 miles and counting, and loving every mile of it!!!

did you know you could have pulled the "meter" fuse in the fusebox right by your left foot. This shuts down the cluster but you can still drive. keeps the odometer at the mileage it's at.

This may be a stupid question (I've asked them before), but, what would keep someone from doing this to keep their mileage down - if it's that easy (other than it might be against the law in your State)?

I've wondered the same thing...... does anyone know what the drawbacks may be if someone was to pull the meter fuse??

I'm sure the ECU freaks out a bit, but I have pulled the fuse out of curiosity and the car seemed to drive fine.

I remember my 95 hardbody had the same fuse and you could pull it to stop the odometer with no ill effects.

Just so you know, the ECU still records the actual mileage so if you do that and you need warranty service the dealer can put your car on restriciton from having any warranty work done. Trust me, I'm a service manager at a dealer.

So there are TWO odometers on the car?

I've heard that the digital styled odometers (liek the Z and S2000) can not be traced to the ECU.

Who would drive without a speedometer anyway? I assume the speedo is off when you pull the fuse?

By the way, if you do not divulge the true odometer reading when you sell your car, it's a federal crime.

I'm in no way suggesting that you pull the fuse. I was merely saying if one wanted to hold back the mileage for some reason... i.e. to take a picture of a certain mileage, you could pull the fuse.

My Z is still a "Virgin."

No females sat in it... even my own mom!
Correction.. one, and she's my friend. But you get what i mean.

Some gurlz ask me for a ride. I usually don't say much. I pretty much say "you're not touching it" or simply "no way in h3ll."
I don't know why I do that, but I find it pretty hilarious when I do that.

I wanna do this thing where when a gurl come up to my car and ask for I ride and i say "sure." But as she's about to get to the door I inch my car forward. Then she attempts again, and I inch some more. MuahahH!

Anyhow... when people ask if I pimp in my car, I say no.

Your spelling and your masculinity are both questionable, my friend.
Sorry.

I don't know if I speak for everyone else, but that's the only kind of lucky I'm interested in.
