Default Modding ~ Lease

Question..

Leased 04 Z

To what degree could mods be done. At what point would you break the Lease agreement and or the warrenty. I understand, at time of return everything needs to be back at stock specs.

I dont plan on doing anything crazy, I dont have serious loot. But i do plan on doing some small things like, JWT Popcharger, Bulb replacement, short shifter...

Would these mods screw up my lease agreement?

Thanks in Advance..

Modding a leased car is a waste of time since you have to take the parts off when you are done, and if they ever find out you will get dinged for it (leasing if all about making money, and they will use any excuse to get more from you). The very minimal modding you can do and not get in "trouble" doesn't really make a difference.

If you want to mod, buy a car first and then go nuts.

Sully, if I were you, I'd get the popcharger and call it a day. I would DEFINITELY not do the short shifter - esp. since you said you are already having tranny problems.

And bulb replacement? Like changing your non-HID to HIDs or changin your non-HIDs to brigher non-HIDs? Either way it's fine.

When I went to turn in a lease - I thought I was going to get f45ked for balding tires, tons fo door dings, wear and tear, cigarette burns in seats thanks to my moron brother.

Dealer turned on the car to check odometer, did a walk around of the car in 30 seconds and I was on my way.

Thanks Roy..

I figured SS was pushing it.. It's not a total waste to mod the car during the lease, i mean Ill be enjoying everything about what is done. Of course you have to removed them when the lease is done, but thats why we have Ebay! Also, how can expect me to scour these forums and see all this amazin **** ur guys are doing with the Z, and not be able to dabble in the fun. I got a lease, because 1) BIG *** tax right off 2) 04 was the second year the Z33 was in production, and I figured that it would come with problems (which it does) and i didnt want to get stuck with something that will be plagued down the road when the good ol' warrenty runs up.

As far as the tranny issue, yea its still occurs,, yet Nissan "cant replicate the issue" so i plan on running it till the tranny falls off.. I wonder if at that point, theyll find the issue.. chumps!

Otherwise thanks for the advise, Roy when we going for a roll! Im still waiting for a nice snow for some snow drifting!!!

Regards,
Sully

For the guys with the leases? Has the Service Dept. said anything about mod when you bring it in for the standard service, oil change etc...?

I'm planning to buy my lease out also.....Put rather large down to lower lease payment, and the residual, or buyout would be just giving them a bonus......Even if I sell it at that point........My only suggestion is to find out how far you can go without voiding the warranty, at least for a couple of years.......I've actually heard that there is quite a bit of modding room before that happens....Espescially if it's a Nismo mod........I would still check it out though, Dave
