Default Shift **** shaking

I just got my 350Z 2 days ago and its a 2005. It had 20 miles on it when I got in it the first time and the shift **** shakes when your idleing. Kind of annoying honestly. Is this something that I can take to the dealer and they can tighten or adjust something?

The shift **** shakes. It is attached directly to a vibrating engine. I for one like the feel of all that napping power at my fingertips. It goes toward the primal feeling that nissan was trying to get with the 350z. You are connected to the car.

The car feels alive. Get used to it.

Ok, thanks and I understand the car is rather powerful. Understand that I still enjoy driving the car more than anything else I've been in, but I was just curious to know if at idle the shift **** could be adjusted to not rattle considering the RPMs are at 600. While accelerating hard, etc I can understand the shaking of course.

Unless the shift **** is "violently" shaking back and forth, there is no need for concern. There vibrations are as Red described, normal. They are the syncros at work... Typicaly the lower the RPM's the more shaking would occur do to the gyrations happening within the engine and transmission. When the RPM's rise, the shaking should subdue.

Good Luck.. You have a sports car!

Normal. Get used to it or sell the car. I like it. You gotta remember this isn't a FWD car where there are shift forks or cables and such that can have bushings to reduce vibration. The shifter sits on top of the transmission and goes right in.

Yep....unfortunately this vibration is normal (unless it is as mentioned---violent).
The gearbox does not have adequate dampners to minimise the vibration. I read somewhere that Nissan made a compromise between too much vibration and having a very "remote" feeling Tranny.
Some love it, some hate it.
I personally would like somemore vibration dampening? but the car is made the way it is made...
Just try to enjoy the good things.
