Default Hit a Deer at 60 Mph.

Well, the night before thanksgiving I was driving home from NYC to East Hampton NY on LI, well at about 10:30 driving normal nothing out of the ordinary... BAM... f***ing deer was right in front of me, no time to react, just slamed it at 60 mph. Well the deer hit the hood, flew over the car and head butted the right rear quarter panel. I am extremly pleased on how the car did at 60 hitting a deer. It did do $4700 in damage due to the A/C and Raditor getting messed up from the hood bending. The way the hood bent shot the deer over my car, which is great since it didnt go into the windsheild.

Ive attached the picture, so hopefully it works.

My friend had the digital camera, so i used an old 80's style polariod. But it worked.

Im not happy about it, but i do laugh at the situation, there nothing i could do. So why be upset. S**t happens, cant do anything about it, so why dwell.

Literally i laughed when i got out of the car. Just thought it was funny, nothing i could do.

And ive had so many problems with this car its really gotten to the point where it doesnt matter anymore, cause the nissan f**ks cant figure there s**t out.

Tony

Insurance is covering it completely, just had to pay the $500 deductable. They just had to make sure it was a deer, by the fur that was stuck to the car.

haha, holy **** 60 mph... I hit a deer at 25 mph once and it made a real big thud... and a homeless person crossing the street at about 10mph once and he bounced off the hood and that made a thud too... I cant even imagine the thud a deer at 60 must have made bouncing off the hood. haha.

The deer in New York love to jump out in front of cars. Sorry to hear about your incident. That happens alot where I live in Upstate NY. I just hit one about a month ago while doing close to 60 mph. Same kinda deal, deer just jumped out in front of me. Luckily I was driving my truck. New bumper and grill needed and maybe a taxidermist.

Wow...So lucky it went over the roof. So how is the damage to the back of the car?

I always pictured a deer strike in this car to be a guaranteed windshield strike since we're low enough to just clip 'em in the knees and take their body weight straight on at the windshield level. Glad you're ok.

There was an incident here where a sports car hit a deer and threw it into oncoming traffic where it went through the windshield of a minivan, killing the female driver on the scene. So sad.

Hope it doesn't affect your insurance. In Vermont hitting a deer counts as a single car accident. I hit one two years ago with my SUV and the ***** insurance company raised my rates!
